My brother is getting married in January and the bride side will hosting their dinner in Indonesia. Its no way for us to remain behind with the baby hence we will be taking Aiden along for this overseas trip. It’ll be a short trip (3 days 2 nights) and Aiden will be 2 months plus by then πŸ™‚ We did some research about travelling with baby to make sure things go well coz after all we’re first time parents. Things you need to apply Malaysian Passport for Your Baby:-
1) Baby’s Original Birth Certificate
2) Mother/ Father’s Original IC
3) Ballpoint pen to fill the form which will be given by the officer
4) Rm150

How to Apply Malaysian Passport for Your Baby

Simple Steps to Apply Malaysian Passport for your Baby:-
1) Head over to any of the immigration offices in Malaysia.
2) Present your documents to the officer at the queue counter and you’ll be given a ‘special number’ as priority is given to infants/ disabled and senior citizens.
3) Wait for your number to be called.
4) Present all your documents (Birth Cert, Mother/ Father’s IC and Form) to the Officer. The Officer will then take photo of your baby.
5) Wait for your number to be called again to make payment of RM150 at the payment counter.
6) Your baby’s Passport will be ready in 1 hour.
7) Present Mother/ Father’s IC and Baby’s Birth Cert to collect baby’s passport.

  1. Hi, You mentioned that the officer will take a photo of the baby. Meaning we do not need to provide any photographs to the officer?

      • The parent will just hold the baby and they will photoshop the background to white? Baby has to be in dark color fitout? Thx

        • Yea, just carry the baby and they will provide you a black cloth to cover yourself from being seen. As for the outfit, baby can wear any colours

        we went to shah alam office this morning. It was closed for 2 days. then we rushed to kelana jaya branch around 9am. saw theres a long long que outside the building. My husband gave up and suggest to go back next week. πŸ™

  3. new procedure, baby under 2 years old is required to bring his / her ready passport-sized photo. and the fee for this passport application is only RM100. No need to fill up any form as the officer will key-in directly to the system. just provide the related original documents.

    • Hi, I’m not too sure if one parent is a non-Malaysian. I think it would be better if both presents to avoid any inconvenience.

  5. I just did my son passport …is it the passport id start with D …(follow the birth cert ) they don’t follow mykid number right? I just want to clarify with someone coz my friend ask n i got a bit worried ..its been a long day for us…so was too tired to notice it.

    • Hi, I’m not too sure on this but I don’t think there’s any issue with the passport id if it’s issued by the immigration?
