Invited to Google Wave
I’ve been invited to Google Wave months ago but not active =(

What’s Google Wave?

Google Wave is an online tool for real-time communication and collaboration. A wave can be both a conversation
and a document where people can discuss and work together using richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.

What is a wave?
A wave is equal parts conversation and document. People can communicate and work together with richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.

A wave is shared. Any participant can reply anywhere in the message, edit the content and add participants at any point in the process. Then playback lets anyone rewind the wave to see who said what and when.

A wave is live. With live transmission as you type, participants on a wave can have faster conversations, see edits and interact with extensions in real-time.

Google Wave is a self-described “personal communication and collaboration tool” announced by Google at the Google I/O conference on May 27, 2009. It is a web-based service, computing platform, and communications protocol designed to merge e-mail, instant messaging, wikis, and social networking. It has a strong collaborative and real-time focus supported by extensions that can provide, for example, spelling/grammar checking, automated translation among 40 languages, and numerous other extensions. Initially released only to developers, a “preview release” of Google Wave was extended to 100,000 users in September 2009, each allowed to invite twenty to thirty additional users. On the 29th of November 2009, Google accepted most requests submitted soon after the extended release of the technical preview in September 2009, these users have around 8 invites to give.

Sunday, December 6th, 2009 3,116 views

I was invited to test drive the New BMW Diesel Efficient Dynamics Cars – BWM 320d & BMW 520d for the past two days. The entire journey and experience was really awesome and great! Never had such driving experience before. It’s powered by Petronas Dynamic Diesel. The combination really great and could bring up the optimum performance!

It’s was a two days one night thingy and drive from KLCC (Mandarin Oriental) – Mutiara Damansara – Tanjung Malim – Tapah – Ipoh – Gerik – Pulau Banding (Belum Resort).

Start journey with BWM 520d! Yes it’s a new diesel car and it’s terror!

BWM 520d Diesel

BWM 520d Diesel

BWM 520d Diesel

End journey with BMW 320d! This is another new diesel car but not so terror compared to the big brother 5Series =p

I just love the handling and the speed and it’s really efficient and dynamic! Diesel is way to go. 1 Full tank for the entire trip and still got 100km to go. Talk about fuel consumption? Good? Obviously!

Stay tuned for more updates~ A lot of dramas happened! Still too excited about the trips and tired la. haha.

Quote : “BUCC general affairs manager Paul Fernandez said they decided to reopen the road out of goodwill to facilitate the traffic study as requested by the Mentri Besar.”

Bandar Utama - Jalan Tanjung reopened for one-way traffic for two weeks

Why why why?? Why open for two weeks? What’s the use open Jalan Tanjung for two weeks? If good will then open until the proposal of widening Jalan Tanjung to a four-lane road from its current two-lane road completed by MBPJ. Hmm sumore open but only one way… Then this road will be close again before Christmas?

Refer to previous post about Road closure in Bandar Utama – Jalan Tanjung

Jalan Tanjung reopened for one-way traffic for two weeks

By TAN KARR WEI

Bandar Utama - Jalan Tanjung reopened for one-way traffic for two weeks

AFTER a late Monday night fiasco between the various parties involved in the re-opening of Jalan Tanjung in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, the road was eventually reopened early yesterday morning.

A week after Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim made the announcement to re-open the road to ease traffic congestion, the Bandar Utama City Corporation (BUCC) had granted permission to the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) to remove the barricades on Monday night.

In an unexpected turn of events, the Bandar Utama Residents Association (Bura) representatives also showed up in front of the 1 Tech Park to prevent the road from being opened.

Bura chairman Datuk Manpal Singh had informed those present that they had at 6pm on Monday night filed a writ summons and application for injunction against BUCC and MBPJ to prevent them from opening the road.

The banners put up by Bandar Utama Residents Association around the Jalan Tanjung
Making their stand clear: The banners put up by Bandar Utama Residents Association around the Jalan Tanjung area calling for the road to be closed.

It was scheduled to be opened at 9pm but MBPJ officers and BUCC representatives debated the legality of opening it for more than an hour before deciding against it.

In the end, BUCC relented and reopened the road at about 2.30am.

BUCC general affairs manager Paul Fernandez said they decided to reopen the road out of goodwill to facilitate the traffic study as requested by the Mentri Besar.

He said all legal matters would go ahead and they would attend the hearing fixed for Dec 8 at the Shah Alam High Court.

Meanwhile, the joint action group against the road closure headed by Tropicana Residents Association Mohamed Shukri Zain called for an emergency meeting yesterday morning at the Tropicana Golf and Country Resort to discuss the matter.

The group decided that they too would file an application for an injunction by Thursday but would discuss it with their solicitors on who to file it against.

About 50 people attended the meeting including those from Tropicana Residents Association, Riana Green, Citra Damansara, Palm Springs and Casa Tropicana.

During the meeting, some of the issues raised by the representatives of the joint action group included:

·The application of injunction filed by Bura, which would go against the Mentri Besar’s request to reopen the road to facilitate a traffic study;

·The setting up of a booth at the 1 Utama shopping centre by Bura to collect signatures for their petition to keep the road closed, raising questions to the credibility of the signatures collected; and

lThe putting up of banners along Jalan Tanjung to protest the reopening of the road by Bandar Utama residents, which is seen as in bad taste.

Meanwhile, the Selangor government thanked BUCC for re-opening Jalan Tanjung in Bandar Utama as agreed with the state, MBPJ and Dijaya Corporation at the meeting on Nov 22.

Khalid said as agreed at the meeting, the reopening of the road for two weeks would not prejudice the ongoing legal disputes between BUCC and Dijaya.

The move will now allow MBPJ to study the feasibility of widening Jalan Tanjung to a four-lane road from its current two-lane road.

He said this study was not limited to the widening of Jalan Tanjung and was part of a holistic traffic dispersal study to other access routes in search of long-term solutions to the problem of bad traffic conditions in Dama-nsara.

Apart from the reopening of Jalan Tanjung, MBPJ plans to implement the short-term measure to ease traffic congestion which includes reassigning the U-turn at the junction of Jalan Tropicana Selatan and Jalan Hilir Bandar Utama near a nursery further up in the area; and building a road to link Jalan PJU1A/1 in Ara Damansara to Persiaran Tropicana.

The state is committed to finding long-term measures to address the problem and will be calling all developers in Damansara to take part in the process.

PIKOM PC Fair 2009 (III) is here, which started from last week. It is the 3rd PC Fair of the year 2009. I went to PC Fair since few years back till now, every time there’s PC Fair I will sure go and have a visit no matter I have anything in mind to purchase or not. This year I would like to get the WD 1TB external HDD as my HDD gonna out of space coz took too much photo la!

But for me, I still like PC Fair in PWTC better, because the KLCC PC Fair really badly manage for the past few times, all one way straight and if you decide to go out or halfway, you can’t! That’s the main problem, besides jam, crowded, expensive food, expensive car parking fees etc. What to do??

Want to buy cheap laptop or netbook? cheap pc? cheap pen drive/thumb drive, external hard disk (HDD), dvd-r, dvd-rw, cd-r, ram, Broadband like Streamyx, IZZI, Maxis 3G Broadband, Digi 3G Broadband, Celcom 3G Broadband, P1 W1MAX with wiggy, HWM Magazine, PC.com, pc accessories, mouse, keyboard, speaker, camera, DSLR, GPS, Projector… etc and a lot’s more. Last PC fair I bought a Asus EEEPC 1005HA netbook which is very good deal! But now all the netbook or notebook / laptop sure come with Win7 liao lo.

This year I think there’s more Broadband war as the Potong campaign and new 3G Broadband in the market, Digi 3G Turbo etc…

Avira Antivirus Girls
Then maybe there’s antivirus war by Kaspersky (Jakie Chan as spoke person) and Avira (more nurse compare to last fair?) too!

For those who’s going for KLCC PC Fair, please check the car park map. It’s very useful to plan your journey if not the best way is to take LRT but if you buying heavy and huge stuff better drive. Please car pool and safe the environment too! =)

Most importantly some ppl just go all the way there to check some of the tech updates but some go all the way there to see leng luis? ahah.

Or you looking for PC Fair job or part time as a promoter? You could easily earn up to RM100-200 per day, if you are female you could make a lot more if you become those model that holding laptop or etc. Click here to find out more available PC Fair Part Time jobs @ AsiaPartTime

Will updates more if have latest news and I will be there next Sat / Sunday @ KLCC. Who will be there next week? Maybe could meet up or something?

NAZA KIA Forte Keyless Entry / Remote Review & Feedback

Sunday, November 29th, 2009 16,912 views

Have you test drive this Korean Kia Forte? If not pls head to your nearest Naza or KIA Motor showroom now before you even say that, “KIA wor… Why buy KIA?” “KIA good meh?” “KIA got resell value meh?” “KIA spare part expensive right?” etc…

For me I think this New NAZA KIA Forte will change entire perception about Korean car, hence next time you will not see ppl mention any sentence above. I personally think that it’s like Samsung where ppl will not buy or even thing for their appliances compared to Japanese brand like Sony or Panasonic etc, but now what you think about Samsung? Is the similar case.

For the spare part I think it should not be a problem as this NAZA KIA Forte will be CKD soon instead of CBU, so those spare part will be localize and furthermore it’s selling like hot cake and got positive review from Singapore and the price of this Forte is increasing in Singapore.

NAZA KIA Forte Remote
NAZA KIA Keyless Remote

Keyless entry button
Keyless entry button, you need to press the button with the keyless remote in your pocket near you!

Keyless remote key

There’s actually a key in this remote, check it out and this key is for emergency case like your remote is out of battery so you can’t enter the car, so you need to use the key to open your High tech NAZA KIA Forte, then use the charging dock to charge it before you start the engine! Coz you need batt in the remote for you to start your car too, if not it will not able to detect your remote key!

Push Start Button
Push start button and the charging dock for the keyless remote.

There’s a safety feature implemented too, if you forget to take the remote out / leave your remote in the car, it will not allow you to lock your car! It’s a smart car don’t you think? Haha.

Go book your All New NAZA KIA Forte now for the CBU before it’s too late and regret getting CKD! If you are considering, pls consider higher specs of 1.6 which is 1.6SX or 2.0SX, don’t ever think about saving your money and get the lower specs 1.6EX which the interior is bad plasticky look / feel, no Air bags, not reverse assist, not 17″ alloy rim, no push start, no this and that… Haha. Go to try out yourself and now tell me is this worth or not compared to those Japanese car like Honda City, Toyota VIOS which is only in B Segment where else this NAZA KIA Forte is in C Segment!

If you want to wait, there will be 4 model releasing next year from KIA. One of them might be KIA Forte Koup and KIA K7 (very ying car but not cheap la…)

KIA Seat
Seat, although it’s not leather but it’s nice. Check out the red lining.

Red Lining
The red lining make it more contrast and outstanding. Have an overall better feel.

KIA Forte Dashboard
Check out this KIA Forte dashboard, it’s actually quite nice and not so plasticky feel for the 1.6SX version. There’s a individual time / clock display a the top of the dashboard which is convenient for some ppl, if not you will need to look at the lower dashboard which will be divert your attention and hence accident might happen!

There’s 6CD changer and able to play MP3. The air cond is digital so you could actually adjust according to the temperature or use the auto mode.

USB Port
There’s USB port and AUX in. So if you have iPod, iPhone, MP3 player or thumb drive, you could just plugin to the USB port and enjoy the music without need to waste time to burn into MP3 cd.

Gear box
It’s a simple gear box. There’s Shiftronic too, so you can use it as automatic manual. Read more about Shiftronic below.

Shiftronic is Hyundai Motor Company’s version of the Tiptronic automatic transmission developed by Porsche. A Shiftronic transmission can operate just as a conventional automatic transmission, but it also allows the driver to override the automatic mode by moving the shift lever into a second shift gate equipped with two spring-loaded positions: “upshift” and “downshift”. Once in this gate, the driver takes over most of the shifting decisions ordinarily performed by the transmission’s computer, permitting, for example, the delaying of an upshift for increased acceleration or to increase the braking effect of the engine. A Shiftronic transmission utilizes a torque converter; consequently, it is not a standard transmission or a newer semi-automatic transmission like Volkswagen’s Direct-Shift Gearbox. In overridden mode, however, a Shiftronic transmission does not allow the engine to stall or over-rev.

Push Start Stop Button
Push Start Stop Button which make the car smarter and looks high tech. No key involved!

Traction control / light button
If you like to drift then you could make use of this traction control off button, right is for dash light dimming.

Side Panel
This is the side panel of the car. It’s simple and nice but unfortunately there’s no retractable side mirror. So you need to do it yourself manually!

Personal Plate ’1’ can cost you RM80,000

2009/11/22
By Arman Ahmad

KUALA LUMPUR: Fancy owning a personalised car number plate? ARMAND 1 or AHBENG 007? Motorists will soon be able to bid for vehicle registration plates with letters, word or numbers of their choice.

Vehicle owners may also be able to buy a range of numbers such as BUKHARI 1 to 200.

However, according to sources, such personalised plates would be expensive, and certain numbers may cost hundreds of thousands of ringgit.

Road Transport Department director- general Datuk Solah Mat Hassan said the personalised vehicle plates service would be made available to the public once the RTD computer system is upgraded.

“We should be able to provide this service about six months after the new system is installed.” Solah said the current computer system is not able to recognise the longer series of letters that would be used in the personalised plates.

There is already a big demand for special numbers that the RTD issues through public tenders.

The introduction of the new personalised plates may affect the value of the current number plates, although Solah declined to comment on the issue.

Revenue from the sale of the special number plates has skyrocketed from RM36 million in 1999 to RM141 million last year.

The sale of these plates is now the second highest source of revenue for the RTD.

Road tax was the highest source of revenue for the department last year at RM1.8 billion of the RM2.64 billion collected.

Revenue from the sale of special number plates is equivalent to 35 per cent of the RTD’s operating and development costs each year. Money collected from the sale of the plates goes to the government instead of the RTD.

All special registration numbers are sold through public tender.

The highest price paid for a number was RM200,900 in 2006 for the number TAN 1.

Other numbers fetching high prices include JJJ 1 which went for RM140,000, and WMW 1 at RM104,500. According to Solah, the value of number plates differed from state to state.

“For example, the number 1 in Kuala Lumpur goes for between RM60,000 and RM80,000 while the same number in Malacca would go for RM35,000 to RM45,000.” The digit 1 is always the highest priced number in any state, followed by the digits 2, 3 and 8.

Double digit numbers, such as 11, 22, 33 and 88 sell for between RM5,000 and RM15,000 each.

Over the years, some other numbers have been highly sought after because they resemble names, professions and likeable words.

Among them are RA 21 (Razi), RA 15 (Rais), DAV 10 (David), AFR 17 (Afrit), TAN14 (Tania), MAN 15 (Manis), JEL 1 (Jeli), DAN 1 (Dani), NAD 14 (Nadia), MAF 14 (Mafia), JED 1 (Jedi), DR 6161 (Dr Gigi) and DU 17 (Duit).

Solah said the RTD had issued special numbers to local car and motorcycle manufacturers in the past and for special events.

These include the series Proton, Perodua, Persona, Waja and Kriss as well as the series XIIINAM, XI ASEAN and XXX IDB and X OIC.

However, the issuance of these special series has been discontinued.
