Astro On Demand, Tai Chor La TV campaign honoured

I would said this marketing ads is totally superb. When I frist see this advert months ago, I told myself, wahh not bad ah … The guy in the ads really good and got potential. Tai Chor La or Tai Jor La in English means watched already.

Astro’s Astro on Demand (AOD) TV campaign, Tai Chor La, won two prestigious awards at the Cable and Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (CASBAA) TV Advertising Awards 2007 in Hong Kong recently.

The awards were the John Doherty Trophy for Campaign of the Year and Best TV Commercial Southeast Asia.

The campaign was developed and executed with two fold objectives; promoting the value proposition of Astro on Demand, which is to enable Astro customers to watch and enjoy the latest TVB drama the same time it premieres in Hong Kong at the customers’ convenience as well as to instil a social message on anti-piracy.

The Tai Chor La campaign depicts a DVD seller and his ailing DVD business as a result of AOD, which allows customers to watch TVB dramas at the same time as in Hong Kong.

The awards, now in their fourth year, recognise and promote the outstanding achievements of advertising creative excellence in multi-channel TV in Asia Pacific. Visit www.casbaa.com for more information.

This blog is a platform to share what I love in life: food (eat), travel (play), photography (art) and life (thoughts and ideas). With passion for food, I share my foodie adventures and indulgences here. “There is no love sincerer than the love of food.”

Traveling makes us a better human being as we recognise the similarities and celebrate the differences of cultures between where we travel to and where we come from. “The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.”

Photography do more than just capturing the best moments in our lives; they also help us tell our life stories. “Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”
