2011》MACIP 2011 which is exclusively produced by Astro Ben Di Quan (Local Belt) sees a new theme this year, “Caring for Cultural Heritage”. The theme was chosen symbolic to the meaning of beauty possessed by the finalists and the aesthetic values held by the ancient cultural heritage, allowing a brand new sense of sight.
The ancient buildings and archaeological sites as cultural heritages have always reflected the ancients’ thoughts, wisdom and cultural development process of a region and ethnic groups. Today, protecting and saving them are our responsibility.
Accompanied with the advanced technology, modern women are able to elevate their creativity bar towards make up and appearance. Therefore, the lasting fascination of a beauty of cultural heritages can only be compared with a woman’s inner beauty. If the inner beauty and outer beauty are coexisting by these finalists, this program will reach the beauty of eternity.
The hosts for the event this year are Jack Lim 林德荣 and Cleo Tay 郑靖婷 accompanied by three charismatic girls who took the crown in the previous years, Emely Poon, 2nd runner up for “MACIP 2007”, Katrina Ho and Jane Tan who were the 1st runner up and 2nd runner up respectively for “MACIP 2009”. MACIP 2011 grand finale will be aired LIVE on Astro Wah Lai Toi (Channel 311) and Astro Zhi Zun HD (Channel 310) in high definition.
Hot Pick! No. 7 Lenna 林家冰, 22 years old, from Pahang, 170cm, 48kg, university student. She really looks like Fala Chen (陈法拉)! What do you think? Will she win?

Have you watched Nasi Lemak 2.0 辣死你媽 directed by Wee Meng Chee 黃明志 or better known as Namewee yet? If not you should head to the cinema right now!
Yes, it’s damn nice and a localized movie. It’s a comedy, which comprises a multicultural cast of Malaysian stars, tells a story about a chef seeking his identity through the making of nasi lemak.
You will laugh none stop from the start till the very last minute of the movie! It talks about everything that related to us as a Malaysian!
This movie is about a Young Chef Huang (Namewee 黃明志) struggles to get his restaurant business going because he cannot adapt to the “localized” cooking his patrons are looking for. However, contradict to his unpopular cuisine, he is also well-know as “Hero Huang” in the local neighborhood where he carries out good deed in helping the community until he met Xiao K (Karen Kong 龔柯允) who get him into deep trouble.
In order to get his life and the restaurant business back on track, Check Huang must now seek help from a mysterious hawker stall lady (Adibah Noor), who summons him to embark on the extraordinary journey of his life. Durng this self-enlightening experience, he will also meet many “local heroes” each lending their support to help him re-discover his roots and the real hidden message of “Nasi Lemak”.
Starring : Namewee, Adibah Noor, Karen Kong, Afdlin Shauki, Dato’ David Arumugam, Reshmonu, Kenny & Chee, Nadine Ann Thomas, Nur Fathia, Dennis Lau, Dian Sharlin, Pete Teo, Ho Yuhang, Felixia Yea, and many more.
Some of the famous phrases that you could not forget : 宝贝 *Muack Muack* Walaoeh.. SONG ar~~ Lai Liao Lai Liao..!!! 。。<sounds like *干你呐 / KNN!*>
Some of the scene that it’s criticize some of the services in Malaysia like our Broadband Service Slow, No Electricity, No Water, also touching on some politic and social issues etc…
All in all, I feel it’s great and it’s just some constructive comment that will bring improvement but it also that might being used as points to take this movie down from cinema and stop screening!
Nasi Lemak 2.0 might stop screening next week. Those who have not watched it pls do so and support such a good movie!
Why wanna ban Nasi Lemak 2.0? It’s nothing wrong! It’s already approved by the censor board and now wanna ban the movie just related to the old incident of the Namewee song Negarakuku?! It’s a truly 1Malaysia Movie and you see all races involved and supported in this Nasi Lemak 2.0, if it’s wrong then why do you think the actors and actress will support in this movie?! Diam Lar!
Some of the reasons that quoted by others against the movie:
4.Orang Cina balik China(回中国论)
5.吻Keris(巫青团-“以华人的血洗马来人”的剑事件)
Yes man
17.google translate
OMG This Video is Damn Geng ah! Must watch and share! It voice out the about the ban! Why should this Nasi Lemak ban? Watch and support, don’t ban the movie!
Even this movie was shot in low cost and budgets from the sponsor but Namewee still able to complete the whole movie using DSLR only (Canon EOS 5DMKII)!
Namewee 黃明志 deserved all the credits. It’s a really good Malaysia “Localized” movie. Local production by Malaysian to Malaysians. I thinking whether this movie will be screening in Singapore too? Keep up the good work and I’m sure there’s there’s more talented Malaysian out there will do the same and we will have more quality Malaysian produced movies!
Now who want to sponsor Saimatkong for a new movie? Haha…
—
Some of the history of how Namewee 黃明志 want to apply for the funding of the Nasi Lemak 2.0 辣死你媽 but still failed and yet the movie Nasi Lemak 2.0 辣死你媽 is now screening in the cinema with very minimum funding for some sponsor and I hope there’s more talented Malaysian out there will be able to produce such quality movie!

It’s the end for Nicholas Tse and Cecilia Cheung These few days all the news been focusing on Nicholas Tse and Cecilia Cheung about their marriage. I think they need time to settle their own family issue and get over it.
After the actress broke her silence and hit out at her husband for pretending to be a good man and a good father, Tse issued a statement on Friday.
Although he did not mention the word “divorce” or “split”, he hinted that the five-year marriage was over.
“From today, I will start handling my family affairs, I hope to stop all speculation as soon as possible.” He ended his statement by saying: “Finally, I am deeply grateful of Cheung’s contributions in the last five years and sincerely send my blessings to her.”
Now, CANTO-POP queen Faye Wong 王菲 has been dragged into the Nicholas-Cecilia 鋒芝變 drama, major Chinese dailies reported.
Cecilia Cheung recently broke her silence about her marital rift and said her husband was a “fake”. The actress said: “How fake is Nicholas Tse? In this world, only me and Miss Wong (Faye Wong) know.
“But Miss Wong is smarter than me. She got out of it by herself, I realised too late.”
Faye Wong 王菲, after a failed first marriage, began dating Tse in 2000. Their on-off relationship ended three years later. She is now married to Chinese actor Li Yapeng.

Astro’s second local Chinese film production, Great Day, was the major box office success for local Chinese films. Great Day is the highest grossing local Chinese film in Malaysia with the accumulation of RM6.5 million within eight weeks of its screening. This record-breaking film, distributed by Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC), has also surpassed Woohoo!, Astro’s first Chinese local film production garnering RM 4.2 million in box office collection last year.
In celebration of the box office hit and the premiere screening in Taiwan, Astro organised an appreciation party today at Overtime, Tropicana City Mall as a gesture of appreciation to each and every party who made this film a success it is today. During the appreciation party, the much-anticipated launch date of the Great Day DVD was announced. The Great Day DVD will be released on 30 April distributed by Multimedia nationwide.
Attending the Great Day appreciation party were Chiu Keng Guan, the film director, Choo Chi Han, Vice President of Chinese Language Business of Astro and the film’s executive producer, Steven Lim, Managing Director of Multimedia, Tung Yow Kong, Senior Distributor Manager of GSC, movie crew members, distinguished guests and media members. Lineup of movie cast included Jack Lim, Wan Wai Fun, Royce Tan, Vivian Tok, Bernard Hiew, Jeff Chin, Gan Mei Yan, Loong Boon Min, Lim Yew Beng, Yap Ah Lan, Crystal Lee, Tan Hao Yen, Miao Lim and Brendan Yuen. The Great Day DVD, encompasses the 90-minute film as well as a 75-min the making of, movie trailer and photo gallery for collection, is slated to hit the store shelves on 30 April. The DVD is priced at RM19.90; meanwhile its economic version with film only will also be available at a very affordable price of RM10. Multimedia who owns the copyright of Great Day deployed a better technology in producing the first batch of 6,000 DVDs to ensure content quality.
Great Day premiered last 13 January in 60 cinemas nationwide; tells of the various relationships between children and their parents and revolves around the central theme of the much-treasured Asian value of filial piety. The film has garnered overwhelming positive feedbacks from the local movie- goers, accumulating over RM6.5 million gross box office collections, despite stiff rivalry against foreign blockbusters during the Chinese New Year. The efforts of Chiu and Astro paid off when Great Day, together with Woohoo!, successfully hit the big screens in Taiwan on 15 April, showcasing unique Malaysian cultures to audience abroad.
Astro introduced B.yond IPTV in a collaboration with TIME dotCom Berhad (TIME) that brings an unparalleled multiplay of Astro channels in HD (High-Definition) with Personal Video Recording (PVR) and VOD (Video-on-Demand) services delivered via TIME’s 100% fibre broadband offering the fastest internet speed in the country. I was invited to a special preview of this in DoubleTree by Hilton and the demonstration was very impressive. I even had a chance to try it out!

The remaining 30 Mbps will be supporting all connected devices such as laptops, tablet devices, mobile phones and games consoles on Wi-Fi within a single household. It ensures that you will not have an interrupted or laggy experience when watching youtube or online streaming media, that will be awesome right?

If Astro B.yond IPTV could implement something that we could just select a channel and surf with the TV + Keyboard but without required of a PC that would be cool and convenient right? Will that be possible? Hehe, if they could do it why not? I’m still waiting for the availability in Petaling Jaya.
Once Astro B.yond IPTV available in my area, I will get it! Will you?
