Tokyo Kitchen (东京厨房) is one of the many new eateries in Setia Walk. We passed by this restaurant several times and thought that their decor is quite attractive.
You will see many wooden wishing plaques with messages or wishes written by patrons hanging outside the restaurant as decoration.
This restaurant has a warm and woody interior. We were greeted by the friendly staff as we walked in.
Be ready to be spoilt for choice as they have an extensive variety of food, beverage and dessert options.
Magic Sushi Ball
Consist of three solid sushi rice balls topped with very thin slice of Salmon, Red tuna & White Tuna. Look unique and appealing but taste so-so only.
I think the fish-to-rice ratio is not proportionate!
Wakatori Karaage & Curry Udon Set
This set includes a serving of chawanmushi, miso soup, salad and agedashi tofu. This set comes with a drink: choose either iced lemon tea or green tea.
This bento set is a let down.
The chicken karaage is not crispy.
The tofu skin is not crispy and tasted quite bland.
The miso soup taste like those instant miso soup packets.
Lastly, the udon is not chewy and the broth is too light and not flavourful.
The only thing which we thought taste ok is the chawanmushi.
Verdict: It is highly unlikely that we will return. I do have to say that there are more varieties in terms of food but they really need to fine tune the taste and quality.
