Pak Lah to announce steps to ease fuel price rise burden

PUTRAJAYA: The Government will announce another measure on Friday to help lighten the people’s burden after the fuel price increase, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said.

“This Friday we are going to launch something to assist in reducing the consumption of petrol and help to reduce costs, and the burden of expenditure (and) taxi drivers,” he said, declining to reveal details.

Speaking in an interview with Bernama and RTM Radio at Sri Perdana yesterday, Abdullah said the Government was focused on steps to help reduce the people’s expenses, including through austerity measures.

On calls for the Prime Minister and Cabinet members to see for themselves the problems brought by the increase in the price of essentials, Abdullah said, “I’ll meet the people and explain to them, lest they listen to the Opposition.”

Abdullah also said the Opposition had done nothing to ease the people’s burden.

“They just talk. They talk even more than what they can promise,” he said in apparent reference to the promise made by Parti Keadilan Rakyat adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim that Opposition parties would reduce fuel prices immediately if they were to form the government.

On the debate between Information Minister Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek and Anwar tomorrow, Abdullah said, “I think Ahmad Shabery is very keen to debate. He can do it; he is a good orator.”

“He has said that if he fails, he will ask Pak Lah to ‘please get somebody else to look after Angkasapuri’. But he is good, he attended almost all the weekly programmes organised by the ministry,” he said.

On politicians bent on using racial issues, Abdullah said they had better not resort to such tactics.

“That is bad, we must have restraint. Don’t. That is like playing with fire. You had better not play with fire on sensitive issues,” he said, describing such action as a short cut to popularity, albeit an irresponsible one.

Abdullah, who is Barisan Nasional chairman, also wanted the coalition to remain strong.

“I know the election result is bad but it is still a mandate from the people. We have to do more, we have to work hard. We have no other choice.

“Listen to the people. God willing, we will be all right,” he said.

What are the things and steps that our PM, Pak Lah gonna announced on Friday? How can it ease the price increase burden of all the citizen?

I would really want to know how and what our PM gonna announce. No more toll? No more tax? No more … ? or change your lifestyle and save (jimat)?

Hope this promise to announce steps to ease fuel price rise burden will not be a joke after all or it’s just another empty promise. If not I really no $ to pump petrol liao lo… damn poor.

Nuffnang earning not tally, did you notice that?

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008 1,545 views

Did you notice that your earning shown in the earnings tab do not tally with the totally earning that shown in the available balance at the bottom of the page. Although this bug is not very critical but I was wondering and curious why no one ever notice and question about that? or maybe I’m a too detail person? Haha

Nuffnang Earning
At the earning tab: RM15.03
At the bottom: RM30.12

No one ever notice that? Any how, I have notified them and within few days I have got this reply after I print screen and showed to them what I was talking about. Yes, Nuffnang is pretty efficient I would say. Below are the reply.

Hi Tian Leong,

Thank you for reverting this to me. I had to check with our programmer who was not around and thus the delay in my response. It is our slight technical error as we forgot to add the codings in the earnings tab which would tally the income from completed metered CPM campaigns as well. Before this, the tab only shows the tally of income from CPC and normal CPM campaigns. It has now been fixed thanks to your notification to us.
Many thanks once again!

Maxis or Digi Bringing in New Apple iPhone 3G to Malaysia? Less than RM1000?

Saturday, July 12th, 2008 7,297 views

New Apple iPhone 3G

KUALA LUMPUR, July 11 ─ Apple today begins selling the iPhone 3G to replace earlier and slower models.

Touted as twice the speed, half the price, the 3G model has the same 8GB capacity as the EDGE iPhone but comes with new features such as enterprise applications and GPS.

The phone was Apple’s entry into the crowded and competitive mobile phone sector dominated by Finnish giant Nokia and several Korean and Taiwanese makers.

But the iPhone integrated Apple’s successful and iconic Ipod MP3 player with touch screen features and the company’s famed industrial design to gain market share and appeal to a younger set.

The iPhone 3G will be available in a few Asian nations soon, most of whom have already cracked earlier sets which were tied to US provider AT&T.

Its understood that Maxis will offer the iPhone 3G in Malaysia at a competitive price below RM1,000.

Source : The Malaysian Insider

Will Malaysia Telco bring iPhone 3G to Malaysia? If yes will you get one? For me I will definitely get one coz from the source it’s will be priced below RM1k? Will you believe that?

I have a friend told me that a friend working in Digi said initially Digi will want to launch their 3G service together with this new iPhone 3G and package it but till now Maxis and Digi are still fighting for the rights to solely sell the iPhone in Malaysia? I guess we should wait and see. I will suggest that we should not get the iPhone now and should wait till it announce and it’s definitely worth the wait.

So of my friends are saying that, they will fly to Singapore or Hong Kong to get the iPhone, do you think it worth? iPhone 3G to me is nothing other than the wOw factors. =) Although this iPhone 3G have the 3G functions but it does not have front camera so it can’t be used to do video call.

Some ppl even comment that they will not get iPhone because it’s too common and too many ppl will own it so it’s not special anymore! Haha ridiculous. Then too many ppl drive kancil or proton because it’s cheap then ppl also will not buy it?

iPhone 3G I’m waiting…!

Targeted Traffic and How To Get It

Saturday, July 5th, 2008 2,074 views

Do not have people visiting your website or blog even you try very hard to write good content? Low traffic and no idea on how to bring traffic to your website or blog? Worry not, here’s and interesting article on how to bring more targeted traffic to your site. Other than doing SEO the below steps are very important too!

Targeted Traffic and How To Get It

If you have a website, you know that traffic is essential, especially if you have something to sell. Not just any old traffic, though – you need targeted traffic.

How is targeted traffic defined? It means website visitors who have a specific interest in the topic of the website. For example, someone who is planning to buy a wedding ring would be interested in jewelry websites.

How do I get targeted traffic? Here are some effective techniques:

Forums:

Whatever your topic, there’s sure to be at least one forum about it. Subscribe to a couple of forums. Join in the discussions, answer questions, and ask pertinant questions yourself. Become known as an expert in the field. Then with each article reply you write, have a discreet link to your website in the signature file. What can be placed in your signature is often determined by the forum moderators. Do not spam the forum or you will be stopped from posting. You should be able to get a fair amount of traffic from a popular forum, and the people who click your link will already be familiar with your writing style.

Linking from/to other websites:

Look for websites which are similar to yours (but which do not compete directly). Ask the website owner for a reciprocal link. Be sure to pick link partners who match your customer profile. Try using a software program like Arelis to help you find link partners.

E-Zines:

Buy adverts in ezines that target your market. Perform a test to ensure that the return on your investment is enough to cover the cost of the adverts. You may save a considerable amount.

Newsletters:

Offer your visitors something of value, such as an eBook, in exchange for signing up for your newsletter. Write your newsletter so that it’s tightly focused on your subject. You should publish your newsletter regularly, preferably once a week.

E-Books:

Write (or have written) a free informational eBook which you can give away to your clients and others. You can place links back to your website in the eBook.

Joint Ventures:

Online marketers are always looking for products to sell. They may have large mailing lists with eager to buy customers. Usually they will be willing to send an email to their list for a cut of the sale price. This works particularly well with informational products. It has several advantages. It can give a large boost to both your mailing list and sales in a short time.

Buy Expired Domain Traffic:

This may be the most expensive in terms of money, but also the cheapest in terms of time. You will usually get a traffic boost within a month. What is it that you’re buying? You are buying traffic from a company which has invested in expired domain names.

They are domain names which are still registered on the search engines which get a certain amount of traffic. The previous domain name owners have not renewed the registration for whatever reason. The traffic from the expired domain name is redirected to your website. This is usually high quality traffic as only expired domains with relevant traffic is redirected to you. As always, you should undertake a test run to see if this traffic is suitable.

When you combine these techniques and apply them consistently over time you will find a rich source of targeted traffic coming to your website. This, combined with quality products will ensure the success of your online business.
