Cooking Class Date @ ILOHA Culture Centre, Bangsar

When I came across Japanese dessert-making class from ILOHA Culture Centre in Bangsar, I thought it would be a fun activity to do with The Hubby before the baby arrives. And it was indeed. So, I registered both of us for the dessert-making class. I did tell The Hubby it was a class on Japanese desserts, but that’s about all he knew. He was pretty excited though and was really looking forward for our cooking class date 😀

Our kawaii cooking instructor, her name was hmmm (I have forgotten her name n I feel so guilty :/ blame it on “momnesia” or “pregnancy brain”). She’s super friendly, nice and encouraging — enthusiastically exclaiming “Ganbatte Kudasai” every time before we start our task. She gave good explanations of the ingredients and demonstrated each of the steps clearly.

Next was Lollipop Cake Pop made with sponge cake and icing sugar water. The hardest part (for me) was shaping the cake balls. I initially wanted to make heart-shaped cake pops but after several attempts, I decided to just make the standard round cake pops.

Among the three Japanese desserts, Hokkaido Creamy Caramel Candy was the easiest to make because there’s only two simple steps – stirring and melting the ingredients.

Overall, both of us had lots of fun and it was indeed a memorable experience for us. Apart from spending quality time together, we learnt something new; killing two birds with one stone.

Fun Activities To Do With Your Partner Before The Baby Comes

Just because you are pregnant doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with your partner. In fact, it’s the best time to enjoy ‘alone time’ with your partner before the baby comes. Below are some suggestions of the fun things that you can do with your partner before the arrival of your little bundle of joy.

1) Take a Day Trip – Head on a road trip (Penang, Ipoh or Malacca) to enjoy local attractions and eat delicious local food.

2) Plan a Babymoon – Plan a relaxing vacation to enjoy some quality rest with lots of snuggles and cuddles while you are still just the two of you.

3) Take Antenatal Classes together – Antenatal classes are very useful for parents-to-be (especially first time parents) to learn about pregnancy, labour, birth and caring for a newborn baby.

4) Take a Class together – Instead of the usual “dinner and a movie” combo, learn something new together. Whether it’s cooking class, swimming class, art & craft class or prenatal yoga class, it will definitely strengthen your bond and give you a memorable experience.
