Siri on iPhone 4S lets you use your voice to send messages, set reminders, place phone calls, and more.
Just tap the mic on the keyboard (just like on Android!) and start talking to enter text, check the weather, get directions or perform web searches.
You ask Siri a question example “Do I need a raincoat today?” Siri will try and make sense of it and responds “It sure looks like rain today.” Other examples include “What is the time in Kuala Lumpur?” Siri will then show you the world clock. Yes it comes with iOS 5, but only 4S users will be able to enjoy it.

The iPhone 4S pre-order starting this friday, October 7th, and it’ll start shipping on October 14th in the US, Canada, Australia, UK, France, Germany, and Japan. So in conclusion it’s the same old iPhone 4 design, same screen size, it’s not any thinner or lighter, and there’s no resolution boost. No true 4G or LTE either. I think this is a very good initiative and good way to fight the crime if all the smartphone users fully utilized it and don’t misuse it!

Selangor police have pioneered a new application for smartphones to enable the public to have easy access to the police in high-risk situations.
Officer in charge of NKRA, Deputy Supt Mohamed Mokhsein Mohamed Zon, said the software dubbed MyDistress was compatible with Android, Apple, Symbian and BlackBerry smartphone operating systems.
“We co-developed the application with mobile phone software developer Convep Mobilogy Sdn Bhd.
“The purpose of this device is to assist the public who may need our assistance if they face situations like being robbed, house break-ins, abducted or even kidnapped,” he said, adding that it took one year to complete the development of the application.
DSP Mohamed Mokhsein said the application was capable of transmitting the GPS coordinates of any person who had installed it in a smartphone if the distress feature had been activated.
He said the application was capable of giving an accurate location of any individual who uses it.
Police had been testing it since March to ensure it would be ready for use, DSP Mohamed Mokhsein added.
Selangor police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Tun Hisan Tun Hamzah said the application could be used for free within the eight police districts in Selangor until January next year.
“We developed this application to make it easy for the public to get police access if they are in imminent danger and to enable the police to respond fast to life and death situations.
“At the click of a button, anyone can report to us their exact location so that we can get to them as fast as possible,” he said, adding that the application was meant to be used in high-risk situations only.
DCP Tun Hisan said the application could be used within Subang Jaya, Petaling Jaya, Serdang, Gombak, Ampang Jaya, Kajang, Klang and Shah Alam police districts currently.
The application would eventually cost RM2 monthly beginning next year, he said.
He also said 50 police patrol cars had been equipped with GPS to ensure they get to the right locations.
“We are working together with Pemandu to equip the rest of our patrol cars with GPS as well,” he said.

(Reuters) – Silicon Valley legend Steve Jobs on Wednesday resigned as chief executive of Apple Inc in a stunning move that ended his 14-year reign at the technology giant he co-founded in a garage.
Apple shares dived as much as 7 percent in after-hours trade after the pancreatic cancer survivor and industry icon, who has been on medical leave for an undisclosed condition since January 17, announced he will be replaced by COO and longtime heir apparent Tim Cook.
Analysts do not expect Jobs’ resignation — which had long been foreseen — to derail the company’s fabled product-launch roadmap, including possibly a new iPhone in September and a third iteration of the iPad tablet in 2012.
“I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come,” he said in a brief letter announcing his resignation.
The 55-year-old CEO had briefly emerged from his medical leave in March to unveil the latest version of the iPad and later to attend a dinner hosted by President Barack Obama for technology leaders in Silicon Valley.
Jobs’ often-gaunt appearance has sparked questions about his health and his ability to continue at Apple.
“I will say to investors: don’t panic and remain calm, it’s the right thing to do. Steve will be chairman and Cook is CEO,” said BGC Financial analyst Colin Gillis.
Apple shares slid to $357.40 in extended trading after a brief halt. They had gained 0.7 percent to close at $376.18 on the Nasdaq.
Analysts again expressed confidence in the Apple bench, headed by longtime company No. 2 and supply-chain maven Cook.
“Investors are very comfortable with Tim Cook even though Jobs has been a driver of innovation and clearly an Apple success. Tim has shown Apple can still outperform extremely well when he’s been acting as CEO,” said Cross Research analyst Shannon Cross.
“I don’t know if it’s a health issue. I don’t know if it is a shock. Most likely it was going to happen at some point. Why today versus another day? I don’t know.”

The move appears to be the result of an unspecified medical condition for which he took an indefinite leave from his post in January. Apple’s chief operating officer, Tim Cook, has been named CEO.
In a letter addressed to Apple’s board and the “Apple community,” Jobs said he “always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.”
Apple said Jobs was elected board chairman and Cook is becoming a member of its board.
