SS15 in Subang is definitely a haven for Japanese food lovers. We were driving around one evening and noticed that there’s a whole stretch of Japanese restaurants opposite Sime Darby Medical Centre in SS15, Subang. We spotted at least 5 Japanese restaurants along the same row of shops and decided that we’ll try Jyu Raku, which is next to Rakuzen for this time.
Parking is not a problem as Jyu Raku offers free valet parking for its dining patrons.
The interior is minimal with simple wooden furniture.
You can choose to sit at the sushi bar where you can watch the chef prepare the food.
Their menu features an extensive selection Japanese dishes alongside a wide variety of bento sets.
Stamina Roll (RM33)
This Stamina Roll is avocado and egg omelette wrapped inside the sushi roll and topped with roasted eel.
Chawan Mushi (RM10)
Chawan Mushi is a Japanese egg custard served in a cup. The Chawan Mushi here is superb, very smooth in texture. Oishi!
Wakatori no Karaage (RM15)
This Japanese version of fried chicken is crispy, flavorful and most importantly, non oily 😉
Saikoro Steak Yasai Itame (RM35)
The Saikoro steak is cut into bite-sized cubes and was cooked to a perfect medium well. The meat was tender and flavorful and it’s served with pan-fried vegetables at the side. Yummy!
Chicken Katsu Curry Rice (RM33)
Their Chicken Katsu Curry Rice is served with a bowl of miso soup. The coating is crispy, which I liked while the meat is tender, juicy and flavorful. The curry sauce wasn’t spicy but it’s nice!
Verdict: Jyu Raku Japanese Restaurant serves quality Japanese food at reasonable prices. The menu is quite extensive, offering a wide selection of Japanese cuisine. Nice ambience with good service. I would revisit to sample their sashimi platter soon!
