ROAD CLOSURE ON LDP AND SPRINT FOR LE TOUR DE LANGKAWI – CAUSED MASSIVE JAM
n conjunction with Le Tour De Langkawi, some parts of the LDP and SPRINT’s Damansara Link will be closed between 8.30 am and 9.30 am on this Friday, 13 February 2009.
On LDP, the affected stretch will be between TTDI Interchange and Penchala Interchange (northbound only) while for Damansara Link, the closure will be between Kiara Interchange and Section 17 Interchange (west bound only).

Roads closed for Le Tour de Langkawi
KUALA LUMPUR: Several roads in the city will be closed in phases for the fifth to seventh stages of Le Tour de Langkawi from Friday to Sunday.
A Kuala Lumpur traffic police statement said the closure on Friday from 9am to 9.45am will affect roads leading to Kampung Sungai Penchala from the direction of Pencala Link and the Sprint Highway, Jalan Datuk Sulaiman, Jalan Tun Fuad and Jalan Damansara.
Jalan Kuching from the direction of Rawang until the Batu Caves roundabout will be closed from 10am to 11am.
For the sixth stage on Saturday, several roads will be closed from the Kuala Selangor district border to Shah Alam beginning at 12.30pm.
Shah Alam OCPD ACP Nor Azam Jamaluddin said among the roads to be closed are the stretch from Jalan Batu Arang via Lebuh Raya Guthrie, Section U10 until the finishing line at Pesiaran Bandaraya, Section 11.
“Two hundred and forty-six police personnel including 17 officers will be deployed to ensure the smooth flow of the race,” he said.
He said they would be deployed according to the zones, namely Zone A beginning at Jalan Batu Arang to the Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE), Zone B (GCE to Pesiaran Sukan, Section 13).
For Zone C, the stretch starts from the Pesiaran Sukan to Pesiaran Bandaraya which is the finishing line.
Roads that will be closed on Sunday starting 3pm are those around Dataran Merdeka including Jalan Hishamudin, Jalan Raja and Jalan Pasar Besar.
Other roads affected are Jalan Lebuh Ampang, Jalan Tun Perak, Jalan Raja Chulan, Jalan P Ramlee, Jalan Ampang and Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman.
All the roads will be reopened to traffic after the event ends. — Bernama
