Hong Kong has got to be one of my favorite city in Asia. Why? Hong Kong has so much to offer in terms of food, shopping, sightseeing and entertainment. My last visit to Hong Kong was two years ago and this year I’m very happy to visit Hong Kong again with Aiden 🙂
We skipped most of the touristy spots like Hong Kong Disneyland, Ocean Park, Ngong Ping 360 and Tian Tan Buddha but we managed to visit Victoria Peak (扯旗山), Avenue of Stars (星光大道) and explore Cheung Chau island (長洲) for a day trip.
Our favorite mode of transport around Hong Kong is the MTR (Mass Transit Railway) coz it’s fast, efficient and easy. If you’re visiting Hong Kong, do make sure you get your Octopus Card which is available for purchase at the Airport Express ticket desk or alternatively, you may purchase your Hong Kong Tourist Octopus Card from Klook. Besides using your Octopus Card to pay for public transport, you can also use it for your purchases at convenience store and supermarket.

Hong Kong 2016 Trip highlights :-
Our ride with Blacklane to Stanford Hotel @ Mongkok (旺角).
We stayed in Premium Room @ Stanford Hotel in Mongkok for our entire Hong Kong trip.
For the best Hong Kong Street Food, try the famous Fei Jie Snacks Shop (肥姐小食店) at Mongkok.
Claypot rice is the best comfort food for cold weather. Yummy!
Ending my night with Tong Yuen in ginger syrup from Tsui Miu Miu Dessert (咀妙妙甜品)
Lan Fong Yuen (蘭芳園) is famous for milk tea but I think their toast or ‘cui cui’ (脆脆); crispy bun with butter and condensed milk is best!
Getting our favorite egg tarts from Tai Cheong (泰昌餅家).
At Citygate Outlets (東薈城名店倉) to start our shopping spree.
Aiden says, “Should we call for room service?”
Mongkok is very lively at night with neon lights and dazzling light displays.
Us @ Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui which is now closed for renovation until end of 2018.
Stars handprints have been relocated to Tsim Sha Tsui East Waterfront Podium Garden which is now the temporary “Garden of Stars”.
Delicious triple roast rice – mix plate of roast pork, roast duck & suckling pig.
Enjoying sticky rice pudding or “Putt Chai Gou” @ Cheung Chau island (長洲).
Come Cheung Chau must eat fishballs!
Amazing sight of Hong Kong Ferris Wheel or Observation Wheel.
Always love the baked spare ribs with tomato sauce rice @ Mido Cafe
Breakfast the Hong Kong style at Kam Wah Cafe (金華冰廳) in Mongkok. Their polo bao is good!
Fun family outing @ The Peak where we get to enjoy a spectacular view of Hong Kong.
To avoid the long queue for the Peak Tram, you can purchase Peak Tram Fast-Track Combo from Klook where you get to board the Peak Tram from a special line. The queue for the peak Tram can be very long especially during holidays and weekends hence with these fast-track combo tickets, you save a lot of queuing time and instead can spend more time to enjoy the spectacular view of Hong Kong from the Sky Terrace.
Satisfying lunch @ Yung Kee Restaurant (鏞記); the century egg and roast goose was real good.
My customized angus beef burger from McDonalds @ Langham Place (朗豪坊).
Breakfast set here is similar to Australian Dairy Co. (澳洲牛奶公司) but with better service. By the way, pork chop bun @ Capital Cafe (華星冰室) is delicious!
Where to get the best egg rolls in HK? From Duck Shing Ho (德成號) of course!
Hearty dim sum feast @ DimDimSum Specialty Store (點點心點心專門店) @ Mongkok
Kee Tsui Cake Shop (奇趣餅家) is my favorite place to go for freshly baked local pastries and biscuits. I love their red bean pancake which is similar to traditional Hakka hot plate pancakes.
Mammy Pancake (媽咪雞蛋仔) offers delicious eggettes in a variety of flavors from chocolate chip, sweet potato, green tea, peanut butter, red bean, mango black sesame & more.
Sinfully delicious toasted ham, omelette & vegetable sandwich with peanut butter @ Yue Hing Dai Pai Dong (裕興大排檔) in Central.
Shopping for Disney goodies at Disney Store for Aiden.
It’s finally time to go back. Bye Bye Hong Kong 🙂 Till we meet again!

Bravo Daddy Saimatkong! Really salute you for using the carrier to travel with Aiden. We have the same carrier too but have not use it for travel yet.
