Roadblocks to deter ISA rally – Jam…

ISA Road Block

Do not go to Kuala Lumpur today if it’s not necessary. If not you will be stuck in jam or you will be caught as suspect of protester? Better be safe than sorry. =)

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have set up roadblocks leading into the city to counter any anti- or pro-Internal Security Act (ISA) rally.

The affected roads are Jalan Tun Razak, Taman Connought, Jalan Loke Yew, Jalan Travers and other entry points.

Stern action would be taken against anyone who defied the police order, said Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan.

He said policemen would be screening motorists and apologised if it inconvenienced the public.

“All those planning to attend the gatherings must be prepared to face stern action from us regardless of whether they are for or against the ISA.

“We will not compromise as far as security is concerned,” he said.

The Gerakan Mansuhkan ISA (GMI) has planned to have 100,000 people march to the Istana Negara to hand over a memorandum urging the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to dissolve the Act.

Some of the gathering locations include Masjid Jamek, Kompleks Sogo and Masjid Negara.

Another group known as the Pembela Negara Federation of Non-Governmental Organisations Council (Magaran), which supports the use of the ISA, had said it would hold a counter rally to send a memorandum supporting the ISA to the King if GMI did not cancel the gathering.

Magaran claims it comprises 56 NGOs with more than 100,000 members

This blog is a platform to share what I love in life: food (eat), travel (play), photography (art) and life (thoughts and ideas). With passion for food, I share my foodie adventures and indulgences here. “There is no love sincerer than the love of food.”

Traveling makes us a better human being as we recognise the similarities and celebrate the differences of cultures between where we travel to and where we come from. “The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.”

Photography do more than just capturing the best moments in our lives; they also help us tell our life stories. “Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”
