Restoran Sri Nirwana Maju @ Bangsar

Besides Nasi Lemak, Banana Leaf Rice surely is one of Malaysians’ favorite food. My favorite places for this Southern Indian dish includes Kanna Curry House at Section 17, Raju’s Banana Leaf at Jalan Gasing and Sri Nirwana Maju at Bangsar.

Vegetarian Banana Leaf Rice set (RM8)

Vegetarian Banana Leaf Rice set (RM8)

This is a basic set which comes with white rice, 3 vegetarian side dishes (cucumber salad, melon curry & fried bitter gourd), dried chili, tamarind rasam (South Indian soup), papadum and poured with your choice of gravy(chicken curry, fish curry or dhall). This basic set is suitable for vegetarians but if you would like to have some meat to go with your rice, there are a variety of side dishes to choose from like fried chicken, fried sotong, fried tenggiri, mutton curry, chicken masala and more.

Chicken Biryani Rice set (RM12)

Instead of white rice, I opt for chicken biryani rice which consists of a piece of chicken drumstick and reddish-orange colored rice with strong spiced flavor. My set also comes with 3 side dishes, dried chili, tamarind rasam and papadum. I highly recommend the ayam biryani rice cox it’s wonderfully tasty and flavorful. The fried bitter gourd is definitely one of Nirwana Maju’s signature dish. It’s crispy, tasty and real addictive.

This blog is a platform to share what I love in life: food (eat), travel (play), photography (art) and life (thoughts and ideas). With passion for food, I share my foodie adventures and indulgences here. “There is no love sincerer than the love of food.”

Traveling makes us a better human being as we recognise the similarities and celebrate the differences of cultures between where we travel to and where we come from. “The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.”

Photography do more than just capturing the best moments in our lives; they also help us tell our life stories. “Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”
