Do you use Touch ‘n Go frequently as much as 80 transactions per month for toll? Yes, I do… I have my rebate! If you are frequent highway user, why not get yourself a Touch ‘n Go card and enjoy the 20% rebate from the initiative of the Government? Get yours now if you want to save more!

Today, just only I get my rebate @ Touch ‘n Go counter beside Sunway LDP toll for RM99.70!

You could rebate in most of the Participating Highways
The operation hours :
Monday – Thursday : 8.30am – 4.30pm
Friday : 8.30am – 5.15pm
Sat & Sun & Public Holiday : Closed

Yes, RM99.70 that much because I use LDP frequently and 4 transaction per day!

When I get my rebate RM99.70 I asked the counter girl why so little because I checked on the system it showed RM128.02, she replied only RM99.70 displayed from the rebate system! I wonder why in the system it shows rebate credited RM128.02 and in actual fact I only get RM99.70?? System flaws?

Not only that, in the system it showed -RM1.92, meaning I owe Touch ‘n Go RM1.92?? I demand my money back!
After my own investigation and calculation it’s actually only rebate for the rebate for previous month exclude June, then it’s RM99.70, but now in the system showing I owe them money? How could this be!? Come on…
Did anyone of you get the rebate as well? Could you share your experience here? Check your transaction here and the rebate here. Be a wise citizen! Start to jimat and enjoy what the government give us as benefit? LOL…

‘No stop’ toll trials to begin in November = Smooth Traffic = No Jam? Do you agree with it?
KUALA LUMPUR: Trials on a multi-free flow toll system will start in November with the Sungai Penchala toll plaza on the LDP being the test site.
Motorists will not need to slow down, as is the case with the current infrared SmartTag system, since there will not be any boom gates.
Malaysian Highway Authority director-general Datuk Mohamad Razali Othman said about a hundred regular users of the LDP would be selected for the first stage of the trial, set to begin in the third week of November.
The new system uses microwaves to read the onboard units in cars, enabling users to pass through a toll gantry without having to stop.
“The gantry is capable of reading onboard units even if the vehicle were travelling at 180kph,” said Works Minister Datuk Mohd Zin Mohamed, adding that the trial will be fully sponsored by Mitsubishi.
Mohamad Razali said that while about 800-1,000 cars could pass through a SmartTag lane per hour, the new system would enable double that amount to pass through.
“For the trial, we will only be using one lane. It will be able to read both SmartTag and the new onboard unit,” he said.
“However, before we migrate over we need to figure out how to go after those who don’t have onboard units but pass through the trial lane anyway.”
Earlier, Mohd Zin delivered a keynote speech at the ‘Globalisation of Young Malaysian Professionals – A Future Perspective’ seminar
He said that it was important for young Malaysian engineering and architectural professionals to realise that they could contribute to the country, add value to themselves, then market their skills globally.

When I went to Singapore few years back they already using this kind of “No Stop” toll which in Singapore they called it “ERP” and I was very amused with this and hope Malaysia too will be implementing it and now finally there’s something that we gonna test run but not sure it will be widely use in Malaysia to reduce jam?
So no ppl will be queuing and get caught in traffic jam? Are you happy now? I will definitely grab a smart tag or on board device if it’s really implementing it. But before we Malaysia implementing it we should enforce the law on this no stop toll and get more high technology stuff to handle this if not it will sure be another failure project and is a waste of rakyat money?!?

What’s ERP?
The Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) (Malay: Sistem Kadar Jalan Elektronik; Chinese: 电子道路收费系统) scheme is an electronic toll collection scheme adopted in Singapore to manage traffic by road pricing, and as a usage-based taxation mechanism to complement the purchase-based Certificate of Entitlement system. The ERP was implemented by the Land Transport Authority in September 1998 to replace the Singapore Area Licensing Scheme after successfully stress-testing the system with speeding Lamborghinis, Porsches and Ferraris. Singapore was the first city in the world to implement an electronic road toll collection system for purposes of congestion pricing.

KUALA LUMPUR: The next time you go to a fast-food stall for your burger or doughnut, don’t worry if you have forgotten your money as all you need is your Touch ’n Go card.
By next Saturday, you can buy such items from 21 outlets in the Klang Valley under a pilot scheme for the Touch ‘n Go card which is currently a toll, public transport and parking paying device.
The outlets are from A&W, Burger King, Dunkin’ Donut, 7-Eleven, Carrefour hypermarkets, Caltex convenience stores and Cineleisure.
According to Touch ’n Go chief operating officer Hasni Zarina Mohamed Khan, this project would be the start of the card being used for retail purchase. Describing it as a natural progression, she pointed out that the card was an electronic purse and supports Bank Negara’s move for a cashless society.
“We have issued 4.5 million cards to date of which 50% are active (used at least once a month).
“At present, the cards are used mainly for toll payment but we hope that by next year, 5% to 10% of the cardholders will use it for retail,” she said in an interview.
She said even for the Octopus card – the transit electronic purse in Hong Kong that is one of the most successful in the world – only 20% of the holders use it for retail purchase.
Touch ‘n Go hopes to increase the number of retail outlets by 20 a month. There could be even more than 150 such outlets throughout the country by year’s end.
She explained that her company had to supply the card readers and backend solutions for the outlets and this took time.
“Consumers need not worry about hidden cost because all the chain stores have an agreement that there will be no extra charges for those using Touch ’n Go cards compared to those using cash. If the item is RM1 then it will still be RM1 if you use our card,” Hasni Zarina added.
Hasni Zarina said cardholders could top up the value of their cards to RM1,000 and need not worry if the cards were lost or stolen.
“All they have to do is to inform us immediately and we can block the card. We can then issue a new card with the remaining value,” she said.
The card could also be a good way of controlling children’s spending as this could be their one card from taking public transport to buying their lunch or snacks.

This would be good news to me! No need to carry cash and coins =) just one Touch n’ Go and further more I’m using Maybank zing Touch n’ Go so it will auto reload for me by just paying RM2 extra and I think it’s worth it. Imagine buy fast food using Touch n’ Go, so convenient “Sentuh Pergi”, just touch it and you can enjoy your food. Hahah… but it doesn’t mean that the food is free. Anyway hope more retail outlet will be using this service. Hope GSC cinema also can use it. It’s similar to Visa Wave or Paypass.
This service is very common and successful in Hong Kong (Octopus) and Singapore (Nets) too. So in few years time you can’t go out without your Touch n’ Go! Way to go. Malaysia Boleh! =p
