Still remember last month there’s a Mid Month Special BUY 1 FREE 1 a la carte Chicken McNuggets (6pcs) by McDonald’s? Did you manage to redeem the Buy 1 FREE 1 Chicken McNuggets? I didn’t manage to redeem the BUY 1 FREE 1 Chicken McNuggets and I knew a lot of you also couldn’t redeem it.
Why? This is because the print out coupon / voucher is too small (must be larger than 9cm * 21cm) or not according to the stated size in the vouchers. My colleague printed out the vouchers but didn’t notice the fine print in the T&C. Don’t you think 9cm * 21cm is just too big for a voucher? (After claim then the voucher will be thrown away and addon to the waste?)

Do you know that they actually have a ruler at the counter just to measure the coupon? OMG!
The question is WHY McDonald’s want to do such promotion and need you to print such a big size vouchers whereby 1 A4 paper can only print 1 vouchers vs 1 A4 paper could actually print 4 vouchers? This is not environmentally friendly right? Or actually the promotion is just a gimmick and McDonald’s know that a lot people out there will not read the T&C and want to limit to the Buy 1 Free 1 promotion?
Next time do read the T&C clearly and hope that all the other company which is running promotion be more considerate and don’t waste paper. I suggest that we could just show the coupon in our smartphone instead of printout that would be easier and will save a lot more of the resources don’t you think so? Do our part and be more environmentally friendly so that our next generation will still be able to enjoy what they are supposed to.

PIKOM PC Fair 2010 (I) is here, which started from 2weeks ago (Early April). It is the 1st PC Fair of the year 2010. I went to PC Fair since few years back till now, every time there’s PC Fair I will sure go and have a visit no matter I have anything in mind to purchase or not. This year I would like to get the WD 1TB external HDD as my HDD gonna out of space coz took too much photo la! I want to get GPS (Papago / Garmin) too preferably with RMVB and AV-in support!
But for me, I still like PC Fair in PWTC better, because the KLCC PC Fair really badly manage for the past few times, all one way straight and if you decide to go out or halfway, you can’t! That’s the main problem, besides jam, crowded, expensive food, expensive car parking fees etc. What to do??

DiGi entry in mid-year may spark iPhone price war

PETALING JAYA: The iPhone will be sold by DiGi.Com Bhd before mid-year and this could spark a price war on services and packages in the smartphone market.
The entry of DiGi in the iPhone space will also end Maxis Communications Bhd’s nearly one-year monopoly in the segment.
DiGi said yesterday it had reached an agreement with Apple Inc to distribute iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS in Malaysia but the celco did not disclose when the packages for the iPhone will be launched.
DiGi said on its website that those already with an iPhone could switch to any of DiGi’s existing Postpaid/Prepaid rate plans.
That leaves Celcom Axiata Bhd, one of the three “big boys” in the local cellular industry, out of the iPhone race for now.
“We are open to the idea of selling iPhones,’’ Celcom Axiata chief executive officer Datuk Seri Shazalli Ramly said yesterday. He said talks with Apple first began two years ago and the talks were still under way.
He did not give any indication on which way the talks would go but did admit that it was “not easy to sell the iPhones as we need to get a support system in place before we can do that. That is why we chose to focus on selling the Blackberry.’’
DiGi is excited about the deal with Apple as it expects the “three-year agreement will help DiGi increase sales more than 5% this year, higher than the industry average,’’ its chief executive officer Johan Dennelind told Bloomberg TV yesterday.
It recorded sales of 2% last year, slowing from 10% in 2008.
“The iPhone is fashionable and trendy. There is a large enough market out there still looking for reasonably priced packages to buy the phone. The determining factor, however, would be pricing,’’ according to a market source.
Maybank Investment Bank senior analyst Khair Mirza reckons that pricing of the device is fixed by Apple but DiGi’s ability to tap into the market will depend a lot on its positioning, “hype” and data plans.
Analyst do not expect DiGi to see a huge impact on its bottomline in the near term.
As for Maxis, the entry of DiGi appears to be a dampener as they now have to compete with DiGi, but the impact on earnings will be small, according to analysts.
Maxis declined to comment on queries from StarBiz on its iPhone sales and DiGi’s entry.
But market research company IDC claims that the celco last year sold 91,000 units since the launch in March 2009 and the shipments included both the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. The iPhone is sold in 85 countries and has about 25,000 applications that can be downloaded.
A recent report released by Gartner said Apple iPhone’s sales had doubled in 2009 , with 24.9 million units sold in 2009 against 11.4 million units in 2008.
