Malaysia’s Datuk Lee Chong Wei 李宗伟 beats China’s Lin Dan 林丹 12-21, 21-18, and 21-14 at the Korea Open Super Series badminton championships in Seoul, South Korea yesterday to win his first title of the year. Finally!

OMG did you notice Lin Dan hair style?! So damn “Leong” lor… Haha… Would all the China men follow his hairstyle now? You wanna cut such hair style boh? Haha.

No matter where Lee Chong Wei place the shutter Lin Dan will be there before the shutter even reach the court. Reading his mind well! Lin Dan made Datuk Lee Chong Wei run like a dog yet Chong Wei still can’t return the cock well. Mistake & unforced error keep on happening.

On the other hand, the 2nd and rubber set, Datuk Lee Chong re-bounced! I thought macam Lin Dan “fong sui” one leh? Or they already discussed letting who win & how many games to play? Arggh. If it’s real I did happy for #LCW, but I think it’s not and it’s the mindset that make Chong Wei bounced back and defeat Lin Dan! Good Job! Malaysia Boleh!

See how Datuk Lee make money? It’s only 1st 8 days of the year and he made USD75k = ~MYR225k! How to make such amount of money!

Datuk Lee Chong Wei 李宗伟 is still World Number 1 & above Lin Dan 林丹!

Chong Wei downs Lin Dan to reaffirm his Olympic intentions

PETALING JAYA: World No. 1 Lee Chong Wei stamped his credentials as a potential candidate to win Malaysia’s first Olympic gold medal with a scintillating victory over nemesis Lin Dan in the Korea Open yesterday.

The 29-year-old Chong Wei overcame a listless start to carve out a 12-21, 21-18, 21-14 win over four-time world champion Lin Dan of China in a physically taxing one-hour and 15-minute men’s singles final at the US$1mil tournament in Seoul.

The brilliant start to the year earned him a cool US$75,000 (RM235,875) ang pow for the upcoming Chinese New Year.

And there could be more when he goes after his eighth home title at the US$400,000 Maybank Malaysia Open, which begins on Wednesday at the Putra Stadium in Bukit Jalil.

A rivalry unmatched: Lee Chong Wei and Lin Dan on the podium after their Korean Open men’s singles final yesterday. Chong Wei won 12-21, 21-18, 21-14. — AFP

It was his second Korean Open title after having won it in 2010 and his ninth career win over Lin Dan in 27 clashes.

Yesterday’s win erased fears that Chong Wei will always be in the shadow of the Chinese star – especially after losing in the World Championships, China and Hong Kong Opens last year.

The most painful defeat came at the world meet when Chong Wei lost despite leading 20-18 in the decider in the final.

Yesterday, Chong Wei’s display showed that he has got over the disappointments.

“It is a new year and I wanted a fresh start. It is great to start the Olympic year with a title by beating my close rival Lin Dan. This is a positive sign for me ahead of the Olympic Games,” said Chong Wei in a telephone interview.

“The win is a confidence booster for me. It was a physically draining match but it was really worth it.”

It was not all that smooth sailing for Chong Wei when the opening game saw the best and also worst of him. He was doing fine – playing well at the net and taking time to open up the game – until 6-6 and then he lost the plot to allow Lin Dan to pull away for an easy 21-12 win. Not many would have put their money on Chong Wei to recover from the lopsided opening game setback but he did. He took all that was thrown at him and then executed some exquisite moves at 18-18 to romp home for victory in the second game.

Chong Wei continued to show more urgency and aggression in the decider to outfox Lin Dan and at one point, the latter was left shaking his head in disbelief over the Malaysian’s deception.

And to top his misery, Lin Dan’s game was littered with uncharacteristic mistakes and it saw the Chinese finally giving up the fight and the Korean Open crown to Chong Wei.

“The first game against Lin Dan did not go as I planned but I kept chanting in my heart that I could pull through if I stayed focused. The win in the second game gave me all the confidence that I needed to go all the way.”

“This is a great start for me and from now it is important that I keep the momentum going and stay injury-free.

“I will return home tomorrow (today) and focus on the Malaysia Open. I do not want to disappoint my fans and I will go all out to keep my unbeaten run intact on home soil.”

Both his coaches – Tey Seu Bock and Rashid Sidek – who were with him in Seoul, were delighted.

Said Rashid: “It is rare to see Lin Dan losing his focus but today he did. And this is all due to Chong Wei’s superb comeback. He did well to change and vary his game to make Lin Dan very uncomfortable today.”

Said Seu Bock: “Credit should be given to Chong Wei for the hard work he put in today. This win will be a big boost to his morale. Of course, Lin Dan and his other team-mates will come back stronger at the Malaysia Open but if there is one place where it is difficult to beat Chong Wei, it is on his home ground.

“Physically, both players have been pushed to the limit but I am confident that Chong Wei will recover in time.”

What’s “Samsung Galaxy Note”?

Samsung Galaxy Note is a new type of smartphone, borne of insight and innovation. It is the ultimate on-the-go device which consolidates core benefits of diverse mobile devices while maintaining smartphone portability. It empowers you with everything you can ever desire so that you can simply, feel free. It is truly smart.

Samsung’s new GT-N7000 Galaxy Note is the handset that many people dream of with obnoxiously large smartphones. It’s as thin as a Galaxy S II, running Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread) powered by a 1.4GHz dual-core Samsung Exynos processor and its 5.3-inch HD Super AMOLED display is as gorgeous as it is enormous.

The 1280 x 800 pixels screen resolution you once could only get with a full-size laptop (or in the Galaxy Tab 10.1) can now slide comfortably into your front pocket, that’s Samsung Galaxy Note. With support for 21Mbps HSPA+ (850, 900, 1900, 2100Mhz), LTE, EDGE and GPRS (850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz), the Note is first and foremost a mobile phone!

Consumer research indicates that people always want to do more tasks much better, even on the go, whether it is web browsing, email, games, or viewing photos and videos.

To do all this, consumers carry multiple devices, because each device has unique benefits that work best in a particular situation. Therefore, consumers constantly switch devices to use the right device at the right time.

Even for consumers with multiple smart devices, they still carry around a notepad for writing down ideas.

There is an emerging desire for a primary device for on-the-go use that could consolidate the core tasks of multiple devices as well as recreate the ease and simplicity of using a pen and paper.

The GALAXY Note was created to reflect your desires. The Galaxy Note is a primary device that will minimize the need to switch to other devices while on the go and open up the potential of your mobile experience.

Samsung Galaxy Note jumbo display makes it the perfect candidate for a notepad replacement and, with the included S Pen stylus, you’ll have no problem jotting notes on the fly, marking up screenshots or signing documents electronically.

Don’t call it a stylus! Samsung prefers S Pen and, with features that you won’t find on just any plastic poker, it might even deserve the distinction. It’s able to tap and hold to capture an instant screenshot, which is then immediately opened up in an image editor and do wonders!

The S Pen is combined with the full touch screen to create a best-in-class mobile input experience. It is the most advanced pen input technology featuring an array of functions including pressure sensitivity, preciseness, speed and more. With the S Pen, you can easily sketch drawings or write notes with increased accuracy and ease. Also, the S Pen functionality is deeply integrated into the GALAXY Note’s native applications to provide a richer interactive experience.

It’s really a useful tool for me to copy notes and replace all my physical notebook and pen and environmentally friendly too! =)

S Memo : S Pen optimized advanced memo

The S Memo lets you record all forms of ideas instantly and freely. A quick memo can be taken from any screen to capture your ideas before they float away. Those ideas along with pictures, voice recordings, typed text, handwritten notes or drawings can be captured into S Memo, to be edited, annotated and shared as desired.

I don’t need to carry my 555 note book and just a Samsung Galaxy Note will do!

Advanced 8MP camera

I love to take photo and with the powerful camera feature, I capture the world’s every moment in deep detail. Also, using the vivid and large display, anyone can easily review photos and show them to my friends in a huge screen! So don’t need to bring bulky DSLR everywhere you go and can take awesomely good photo!

Conclusion / Summary of Samsung Galaxy Note

The huge size of the Galaxy Note is the main reason to buy it. Till now, no other smartphone has such a big, beautiful screen. However, the size also creates a number of issues, short battery life and sheer unwieldiness being chief among them. If you can live with these drawbacks, you’ll find that this is one of the most powerful Android smart phones around, tackling apps and media with aplomb.

Samsung Galaxy Note will be available in Malaysia stores from 11 November onwards. If you want to grab one do go and check it out!

Lee Chong Wei 李宗伟 still cannot beat Lin Dan 林丹 in yesterday match but I strongly believe that in the next meet or till next year Olympic Datuk Lee Chong Wei will surely beat Lin Dan! So far Lin Dan is still stronger than Chong Wei not in terms of skill but just that Datuk Lee fear of him mentally? Hmm…

China’s superstar Lin Dan 林丹 shattered Chong Wei’s 李宗伟 dream of becoming Malaysia’s first world champion in 1 hour 22 mins men’s singles final.

Lee Chong Wei 李宗伟 lost to Lin Dan 林丹 in Badminton World Championships but it’s a close fight I must agree! Every badminton fans will surely enjoyed the game and the way the fight till the last point.

Datuk Lee, you can do it! I still want to see some stunning act from you and beat Lin Dan pls!

CHINA’s Lin Dan took of his shirt to reveal his rippling musles before running around the court in sheer joy.

After lying low throughout this week, he was in the mood for celebration – especially after beating world number one Lee Chong Wei 20-22, 21-14, 23-21 in remarkable fashion.

The sensational come-from-behind win – especially after trailing 12-16 and 18-20 in the decider – saw Lin Dan winning his fourth world title, a first by a player in the world series. It was his 17th win over Chong Wei over 24 matches since they first crossed swords in 2004. It was also Lin Dan’s second win over Chong Wei this year after the victory at the US$1.2 mil South Korea Open final in Seoul.

And when asked about his victory, Lin Dan said that he wanted to quickly end the game because he did not have much time to go sight-seeing in London and had wanted to buy gifts for his wife Xie Xingfang.

The greatest: China’s Lin Dan celebrating after defeating Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei in the men’s singles final yesterday.

“The match was going too long and I wanted to just win it. Fortunately, I did not make as many mistakes as Chong Wei did towards the end,” said Lin Dan.

“This is my first visit to London and I have not had time to do some sight seeing. I want to buy clothes for my wife,” he said in a packed press conference, which drew laughter.

When asked about the way he celebrated the win yesterday, he said: “Yes, I was a bit emotional. Chong Wei played well and I have to work hard to get back into the game after the first game defeat.”

“I am glad that we (Chong Wei and I) were able to give the fans a great badminton show. I saw a lot of quality matches from men’s singles players in this world meet.

“I am a badminton ambassador and it is my responsibility to maintain the interest of the the badminton fans,” said the 28-year-old Lin Dan. When asked about his Olympic Games preparation, he said: “This win here has put me in the right track for my Olympic Games preparations for next year at the same venue. I am happy and pleased with everything that has taken place here,” he added.

Chong Wei suffers frustrating end to inspired run

IT was a magical moment at the Wembley Arena yesterday but it did not belong to Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei.

Yesterday, China’s superstar Lin Dan shattered Chong Wei’s dream of becoming Malaysia’s first world champion when he came from behind twice in the decider to troop home with a sensational 20-22, 21-14, 23-21 win in an adrenaline-pumping, one-hour-and-22 minute men’s singles final.

The 29-year-old Chong Wei had held the upper hand at 16-12 and 20-18 in the decider in the dream final of the World Championships between the two greatest men’s singles players but luck deserted him at the crucial state.

And to add misery to his agonising defeat, Chong Wei, who put up a sombre face during the victory ceremony, rushed out with cramps on both his legs and was lying in a corner with tears in his eyes.

It was truly a sad end for Chong Wei, who had been so convincing and confident in his play throughout the week, sparking a great hope for Malaysia to produce a first winner since the tournament’s inception in 1977.

Dejected: Lee Chong Wei making a call back stage after his loss to Lin Dan in the final.

On Saturday, he had reached his first final in his sixth attempt in the world meet to become only the second Malaysian after Wong Choong Hann to do so.

After a good rub-down, Chong Wei said that he was disappointed with the outcome but vowed to move forward – with his focus on next year’s Olympic Games.

“I had two chances to end the game but it did not happen for me … Lin Dan took a great gamble at the crucial stage and I was quite unlucky,” said Chong Wei.

“I gave my all. This is my best and closest match against Lin Dan. It hurts to lose by two points in this manner.

“I may have lost to him but I showed that nothing much separates us. I made some mistakes today but I will be ready for him the next time.

“I am still happy with my achievement of reaching my first final here. It has been a good season. I have reached every final since the start of this year.

“I will shift my attention to the Olympic Games. It is 11 months away and I want to better prepared.

And he gave the Malaysian fans some good news: “I may have lost the opportunity to become the country’s first champion but I am coming back. I will be back in 2013 to get it right,” added Chong Wei, who left for home yesterday.

It started with three quick easy points for Chong Wei following Lin Dan’s unusual poor service return shots.

Then, the real battle began with Chong Wei and Lin Dan trying to outfox each other with their blistering pace, punishing smashes, unbelievable netplays and incredible retrieves.

The Malaysian stayed ahead to take a 20-18 lead but Lin Dan was always dangerously snapping at his heels. Lin Dan’s brilliance at the net saw him levelling at 20-20 but a quick recovery saw the Malaysian taking the first game at 22-20.

The second game went on in the same fashion but this time, Lin Dan dictated the pace until 11-9. A brief nervy spell by a slower Chong Wei saw Lin Dan taking a 17-10 lead and eventually forcing a rubber game with a 21-14 win.

Both came back recharged and determined to outdo each other and what a fight it was.

The decider was a thriller with both displaying class and quality but it was Lin Dan who had a better finish to nick his fourth world title to emerge as the world’s greatest player.

Yes, I love our young Malaysian under 23 team! They are damn strong! Malaysia Boleh! Even we lost 0-1 to Chelsea, the young team is still very awesome! =)

Malaysia vs Chelsea @ Bukit Jalil

Didier Drogba scored the only goal at 79th minute through a curling free kick shot. The goal was controversial where Malaysian claims that the ball did not go over the goal line, and replay might prove they are right. I was disappointed when it was declared as a goal!

Substitute goalkeeper Izham Tarmizi was unfortunate to have the ball hit him in the back after coming off the post from Didier Drogba’s free-kick and there was much doubt that the ball had even crossed the line. If you watch the reply, the ball still in the air and was grabbed by the keeper, should it be counted as a goal??!? It’s quite dubious but the linesman flagged it and we have to accept the result.

Replay of the Chelsea vs Malaysia Golden Goal!

However, this is just a friendly and Malaysian should be proud of their game against EPL giant. This match unlucky loss provided some consolation for Malaysian football after the 4-0 and 6-3 thrashing by Arsenal and Liverpool respectively over the last 10 days.

Malaysian football coach Ong Kim Swee was a happy man. This match will serve as a good experience for Malaysia Under-23 boys before they play in the third round of the 2012 Olympics qualifier.

That “goal” in the 79th minute was Chelsea’s only saving grace on a night of high disappointment for some of their top players, having came earlier with high hopes of racking up a huge score.

I must say that our Malaysia goalkeeper Farizal Marlias is a good and steady keeper and equipped with skills. Kepp it up and one day Malaysia able to compete in World Cup hopefully!

After the match the crowd and human flow really bad and mess! Check out the captured moments!

Anonymous, the hacker group that has threatened to attack the Malaysian Government portal, just announced its reasons. The “Anonymous” group is acting against what it claims are various acts of censorship by the Malaysian Government which announced last week, and also because of the recent move to block filesharing sites, like The Pirate Bay, MegaUpload, in Malaysia.

Malaysian government is ordering the ISPs in the country to block many file sharing websites including The Pirate Bay and MegaUpload. The decision to block the websites is taken by the Suruhanjaya Komunikasi dan Multimedia Malaysia (SKMM) – the arm of the Malaysian government which supervises the telecom and multimedia industry in Malaysia.

According to memo sent by the SKMM to the Malaysian ISPs, file sharing websites are in violation of Section 41 of the Copyright Act of 1987. The SKMM is, therefore, ordering the ISPs to block access to those websites under Section 263 (1) and 263 (2) of the Communication and Multimedia Act of 1998.

All service providers have been ordered to completely block various file-sharing sites including The Pirate Bay, MegaVideo and other hosting services. The move follows an April statement by the Prime Minister in which promised that would never censor the Internet.

If your favourite file sharing sites seemed to be inaccessible for the past few days, it’s most probably blocked! The file sharing sites might have been listed under the recent blockage order by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

Greetings, Malaysia, We have seen the censorship taken by the Malaysian government, blocking sites like The Pirate Bay, and WikiLeaks. Malaysia is one of the world’s strictest governments, even blocking out movies, and television shows. These acts of censorship are inexcusable. You are taking away a basic human right. The internet is here for freedom, without fear of government interference. Do not think that no one else notices. Your structured government has done the talking, and we hear loud and clear. Let this be an announcement to all your people. This is a sign, a warning, and an opportunity to listen to ideas above your own. In a way you are being stubborn. But how will this help anyone or your country. We fear that if you make further decisions to take away human freedom. We are obligated to act fast and have no mercy. For rules were meant to be broken. And corruption was meant to be washed away and forgiven. Now we will wash your corruption away so be prepared. Take this as a favor.

Ohh no! Is this good or bad? Even this file sharing sites are blocked, there’s always way to bypass it! People will come out will guide on “How to bypass DNS block” or “How to access blocked file share websites” to help internet users to get around it. Just some simple DNS bypass will do the trick or just find some new file sharing website that offering the same service? How about other file sharing site like dropbox and box.net etc?

Are you one of the affected internet user by the block of fileshare website? I’m not as I don’t download much but was affected by the online streaming of TVB drama series as most of the latest drama series do not available for Malaysia anymore! Fear not of coz I have my own way to by pass and to grab the content and continue streaming of PPS.tv or Tudou.

Hacker group to attack M’sian Govt portal

PETALING JAYA: A hacker group has threatened to attack the www.malaysia.gov.my website.

The group, which calls itself Anonymous, said it will launch the attack at 7.30pm GMT on Wednesday (3.30am Thursday Malaysian time) and has named it “Operation Malaysia.”

It posted the threat in a graphic on this website, http://i.imgur.com/PTFWh.png.

Mikko Hypponen, chief research officer at the F-Secure Corporation – a computer security software company based in Helsinki, Finland – tweeted about the threat at 4.42am Malaysian time.

No other details were available at this time. It is also not known why Anonymous has targeted the Malaysian website.

Hacker group Anonymous threatens to attack Malaysian Government website.

But there has been an uptick in “hacktivism” these past weeks, where hacker groups have targeted various organisations for political purposes.

Hackers have attacked the International Monetary Fund and Sony PlayStation Network, as well as the networks of aeronautics company Lockheed Martin Corp and Citibank in North America, amongst others.

Anonymous was blamed for the hack into the PlayStation network but a spokesman for the group has denied involvement, saying that its aims are political. Spain, however, has arrested three suspected members of the hacker group for that attack.

Anonymous apparently comprises a vast number of hackers in various countries, who have been organised into cells that share common goals. They operate anonymously but in a co-ordinated fashion.

Meanwhile the AP reported from New York that a group of hackers has gained access to the websites of the U.S. Senate and video game company Bethesda Softworks, the latest in a series of cyberattacks plaguing a broad range of online victims.

The group, which calls itself Lulz Security, posted what it called a “small, just-for-kicks release of some internal data” from Senate.gov on its website on Monday.

Likely referencing reports that the Pentagon is considering whether a cyberattack could be considered an act of war, the group also wrote “is this an act of war, gentlemen? Problem?”

A representative from the office of the Senate sergeant-at-arms did not immediately return a phone message for comment Monday afternoon.
File – In this May 15, 2011 file photo people wearing masks often used by a group that calls itself “Anonymous” take part in a rally in Madrid. Spanish police arrested three suspected computer hackers that allegedly belonged to a loose-knit international activist group that has attacked corporate and government websites around the world, authorities said Friday June 10, 2011. A National Police statement identified the three detainees as leaders of the Spanish section of a group that calls itself “Anonymous.” – AP

Bethesda acknowledged the intrusion in a blog post Monday, saying hackers may have gained access to users’ names, email addresses and passwords. The company said no credit card data or other financial information were compromised.

Josh Shaul, chief technology officer at database security software maker Application Security Inc., said the data Lulz posted is “verifiable proof” that it was able to gain access to and take control of the Senate’s website.

“It’s a very skilled group,” he said. “They claimed it was easy.”

Lulz Security has also recently claimed responsibility for breaking into the websites of PBS, Sony Pictures, Nintendo and others. Meanwhile, it’s unclear who was responsible for a recent cyberattack on the International Monetary Fund’s computer system or the one on Citibank that stole about 200,000 credit card account numbers, customer names and email addresses.

Shaul said the recent string of attacks take advantage of insecure systems. While companies are protecting the perimeter of their computer systems, once hackers get in, “everything is there to own,” he said. It’s the equivalent of a bank putting a guard at the door and leaving all the money in a pile instead of in safes and vaults, he added.

“We’ve created this situation where it’s so easy for a skilled attacker to break in and get data,” Shaul said. “They are doing it because they can.”

Bethesda declined to comment beyond its blog post and did not say how many users were affected.

In Twitter messages, Lulz (Internet-speak for laughs) said it has had information on more than 200,000 users “for weeks” and broke into Bethesda’s website more than two months ago. Bethesda, meanwhile, said that a hacker group “attempted an unlawful intrusion” over the weekend.

Lulz said on its website Monday it is not releasing information it has on the 200,000-plus users.

Bethesda, behind games such as “Brink” and “Fallout: New Vegas,” is a subsidiary of ZeniMax Media Inc., based in Washington, D.C.

Hacker group tells why it wants to attack Malaysian Govt portal

PETALING JAYA: Anonymous, the hacker group that has threatened to attack the Malaysian Government portal, just announced its reasons.

According to its statement on the Pastebin website, the group is acting against what it claims are various acts of censorship by the Malaysian Government, and also because of the recent move to block filesharing sites, like the Pirate Bay, in Malaysia.

Anonymous also accused the Government of censoring movies and television shows, and for restricting the Internet, which it says is a basic human right.

“We fear that if you make further decisions to take away human freedom, we are obligated to act fast and have no mercy,” the group said in its statement on Tuesday.

The message was also uploaded on video-sharing site YouTube.

It featured a digitally-generated voice that read out the group’s message.

Anonymous will launch the attack at 7.30pm GMT on Wednesday (3.30am Thursday Malaysian time) and has named it “Operation Malaysia.” It posted the threat in a graphic on this website.

Mikko Hypponen, chief research officer at the F-Secure Corporation – a computer security software company based in Helsinki, Finland – tweeted about the threat at 4.42am Malaysian time Tuesday.

Meanwhile, online news site Epoch Times reported that Anonymous selects target countries based on input from users in those countries.

However, the report said, the hacker group has declined to say if there are any Anonymous members in Malaysia.

In the exclusive interview with Epoch Times, Anonymous said it expects the Malaysian Government to “not be happy” over the coming attack.

According to the report, Anonymous has reminded its members taking part in Operation Malaysia to use Virtual Private Networks to encrypt their network connections, and to transfer data from remote locations that cannot be accessed without authentication.

This would help protect the identities of the hackers and their locations.

The attack on the Malaysian Government portal would be in the wake of several earlier attacks by Anonymous on Turkish Government websites for alleged Internet censorship.

According to recent news reports, the Turkish Government has arrested 32 people, suspected to be members of Anonymous, after “Operation Turkey” disrupted a number of official websites in that country.

Will you be one of them who queuing up for the new iPad 2 this coming Friday? My advise is NO! Don’t waste your time queuing up. Why?
1) If you are working, you need to apply for leave.
2) Need to start queuing very early maybe 6am? Or maybe some even over night or camp there?
3) There’s no discount of special offer stated till now for the early bird buyer.
4) You may end up empty handed without the iPad 2 as there will be a quota set for daily iPad 2 sales.
5) They might be some iPad 2 already reserved for the pre-order ppl and there will be less unit available?

Did you receive an email of Chinese New Year greeting from our Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Najib Razak? It’s so sweet of him sending us CNY greetings and it’s personal touch.

I did receive the greeting email and a lot of ppl did reply to my tweet that they do receive this email too. I’m wondering from where our PM got our email address and it’s stated that it’s from 1Malaysia.com.my and various sources.

I didn’t subscribe to 1Malaysia.com and it makes me wonder where are the various sources that were referred to? Hmm…

Salam 1Malaysia!

Selamat Tahun Baru Cina, Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Ikhlas daripada
Najib Razak & Keluarga

——-

Salam 1Malaysia!

Happy Chinese New Year to all Malaysians who celebrate this auspicious event.

Each year as the season draws near I am reminded of the excitement and merriment I experienced as a child during Chinese New Year. Mum and dad would visit our Chinese friends, and I would always tag along. I always look forward to savouring the many delicacies, favorites being kuih kapit, kuih bangkit, pineapple tarts and “ngaku” crackers, with Mandarin oranges always on top of the list. A wide smile would cross my face when I received “angpows” from my parents’ friends. Today, the celebrations have grown to include sate, ais kacang, mi rebus and maruku even!

May the Year of the Rabbit bring blessings of much happiness, good health and prosperity always. With new beginnings comes new opportunities and as we usher in the Lunar New Year, it is my sincere hope that you achieve success and satisfaction in all your undertakings. Your accomplishments are reflective of our nation’s triumphs, and may we always excel beyond expectations!

Gong Xi Fa Cai!

From
Najib Razak & Family

I even get the SMS greetings from our Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Najib Razak. It’s not 1 SMS, it’s not 2 SMS but it’s 3 SMS of the same content? If let say 1million people receive 3 SMS then it might cost around RM0.05*1million*3SMS = RM150,000.00 to blast the SMS CNY greetings? Hmm… that’s my simple random calculation only…

On the other hand, I appreciate the email and sms greetings blast! Happy Chinese New Year to everyone and wishes you have a great year ahead! Gong Xi Fatt Chai! Hoot ah!!! 恭喜发财!!

PETALING JAYA: Many of the 1.5 million people who received the Prime Minister’s Chinese New Year greeting via e-mail were delighted over his message.

“The Prime Minister has a very noble intention to get closer to all of us. We receive it (his message) with an open heart and full of smiles,” said Noor Amy Ismail on Twitter about the e-mail which was circulated since Saturday.

Blogger Aizuddin Danian said the e-mail highlighted the personal side of the Prime Minister.

“It makes a point to mention that he had no problems visiting the homes of his Chinese friends,” Aizuddin wrote.

Junior video editor Alistair Tham, 22, also expressed delight at being one of those who had received the e-mail.

“People may think it’s a spam but I think it’s not a bad way to approach the people,” said Tham.

The personal initiative by Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, which is a first by any Prime Minister, was particularly targeted at reaching youths aged between 20 and 34 years old.

The e-mail was sent from various database sources, especially to those who have registered at the Prime Minister’s personal website www.1malaysia.com.my.

In the greeting, Najib also briefly reminisced on his excitement as a child as the festival approached.
