I’m not sure why they introduced this flow as it will caused more jam for me to go home! It will be on Contra Flow daily from Monday to Friday except Public Holiday… How how how?? Gonna be mad la… What’s the alternative to LDP? MEX? KL-PutraJaya Highway? =’(

LDP Road Diversion - Contra Flow

LITRAK will be introducing yet another traffic management scheme on the South bound direction towards Putrajaya between the stretch right from the Petaling Jaya Selatan Toll Plaza and Bandar Puchong Jaya (KM 19.3 to KM 22) from next week. The main objective of this exercise is to improve traffic flow in Puchong.

The Contra-flow traffic scheme being introduced in collaboration with the Traffic Police, is not new to people in the Klang Valley but this will be the first time that LDP road users in Puchong will experience it.

The Contra-flow system starts right from the Petaling Jaya Selatan Toll Plaza towards Puchong. Highway users heading towards Puchong Perdana and Putrajaya will be required to enter the lane which is located on the extreme right of the toll plaza. The dedicated lane for the contra flow is meant for light vehicles only.

The Highway Ronda team will be stationed at strategic locations and users are advised to adhere to the signages erected along the stretch to guide roads users.

The Contra-flow, aimed at improving the traffic flow on the south bound direction towards Putrajaya will involve the complete closure of the fly-over in the opposite direction towards Sunway/Kesas at Puchong Jaya Interchange to make way for additional lane to Puchong Perdana / Putrajaya – bound traffic. Thus, highway users from Puchong towards Sunway/Kesas/Federal Highway are advised to keep to the most left lanes and use the slip road right after IOI Mall.

The contra-flow will be in effect daily from 4.30 pm-8.30 pm (Monday – Friday except Public holiday) from 8 March 2010.

Speaking to reporters during the Press Conference to announce the contra-flow traffic, LITRAK Chief Executive Officer Sazally Saidi said the effort involves extensive preparation and dispensation of huge number of manpower on site.

“We have been studying this option for months now and theoretically the contra-flow should work based on the studies. We are certain that with additional lanes provided for the Puchong Perdana /Putrajaya bound traffic, the traffic flow in Puchong will improve,” he said.

He said as in any new traffic scheme, there could be minor hiccups as roads users will need a few days to get accustomed to the system.

“To a large extent, we will have to depend on the road users to be vigilant, adhere to signs posted and be at the correct lanes according to their destination for this system to work entirely,” he said.

Sazally said the contra-flow traffic system will begin on 8 March (Monday), 2010 from 4.30pm.

New NKVE Tunnel Near Tropicana – Will it ease the jam?

Friday, August 7th, 2009 2,271 views

Tropicana Tunnel

Do you use the tunnel near Aman Suria and Tropicana Seafood, Tropicana Gold Club? If yes then you will feel the pain everyday when you have to bare the jam. Moreover the traffic light in the junction is forever rosak. Every time you pass by, you will only see yellow light blinking. Which will make the matter worst without the traffic light and you will see ppl start to jump queue and do not give way etc.

The other traffic light after the tunnel nearer to Tropicana entrance is the worst thing ever. It will make the traffic stand still just to give way to those big boss staying inside Tropicana Resort and it will make the jam even worst.

Tropicana Tunnel

But in order to solve the problem, they built a new tunnel which is for traffic from Tropicana to Aman Suria / Dataran Prima exit to LDP, now each way will have a dedicated tunnel. Although the traffic will be a bit smoother but did they considered about the possible problem that might arise now? I foresee that accident will happen. Then all the minister will start to gather there and all the reporter will take photo of all the minister point at the junction or the tunnel? Do something please.

Tropicana U Turn
This is the u turn, this is because the new NKVE Tunnel can’t let you turn right like the old tunnel. Now all the motorists have to u turn further up in the road.

Rebates for regular LDP users – Good or Bad?

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009 3,077 views

It’s seems to be good news for me but I only use RM1.60 + RM1.60 * 2 everyday to Cyberjaya so it will be RM3.20*2*5*4 = RM128 so no rebate for me. =(

Is it a good news for you or none of your business? haha. They should have just reduce the toll rate to RM1.50 at least I also can save some peanut.

The rebate is also very tedious just look at the T&C, you need to go register your Touch n’ go card and then register with litrak. Then rebate need to do it at Touch n’ go hub. Wah so many procedure and need to waste more time and petrol so is it feasible? So what if I’m using my Smart Tag with Zing Touch n’ go which is auto reload?

Rebates for regular LDP users

PETALING JAYA: Those who frequently ply the Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP) can look forward to special rebates under the newly-launched Frequent Travellers Programme.

Cash users will be given a free Touch ’n Go card worth RM15, including a RM10 load value, if they provide RM50 worth of LDP receipts collected within a month.

Existing Touch ’n Go or SmartTAG users who spend at least RM200 a month will be eligible for a free 20% reload bonus when they top up.

Works Minister Datuk Shaziman Abu Mansor said the programme was timely given the current economic slowdown.

“This example should be followed by all highway operators in an effort to make highway users a priority,” he said in his speech at the launch of the programme read out by the ministry’s secretary-general Datuk Thomas George.

Shaziman called on all highway operators to rejuvenate the quality of service given to highway users.

Toll rates, he said, should not be burdensome and priority should be given to what users want and need.

“This will ensure that the quality of service is on par with the toll rates being charged.”

He urged operators to play a more active role in carrying out their corporate social responsibility to help reduce the burden on motorists.

LDP concessionaire Lingkaran Trans Kota Holdings Bhd (Litrak) chairman Tan Sri Dr Wan Abdul Rahman Wan Yaacob said they wanted to reduce the burden of highway users who frequently used the highway.

“As part of our corporate social responsibility, we will also be spending RM300mil for congestion mitigation work, which will begin in the third quarter of this year,” he said in his speech read out by Litrak executive director Yusoff Daud.

Ad exec stuns girlfriend with RM54,000 marriage proposal – Will you do that?

Saturday, February 16th, 2008 2,373 views

RM54,000 marriage proposal

PETALING JAYA: For this Valentine’s Day, businesswoman Kelly Tan E Li got an unexpected marriage proposal.

It was “wrapped” in a RM14,000 diamond ring and a huge billboard advertisement in which her boyfriend publicly declared his intentions.

“This is the biggest surprise of my life. And, the whole thing started as a very normal Wednesday. We went out for dinner and my boyfriend David Tan insisted on sending me home.

“The date ended very late, close to midnight. We got talking in the car and as we drove along the LDP in Kelana Jaya, he got excited and asked me to look at an “interesting” billboard by the side of the road,” said Kelly, 24.

As David was working in an advertising firm, Kelly assumed he wanted to show her some fancy new advertisements.

“I looked and was stunned. David’s picture was on the board! And beside his picture, were the magic words ‘Kelly Tan E Li, will you marry me?’

“I was so shocked and could not speak for about 10 minutes. He finally smiled when I told him ‘yes’,” said Kelly.

And the RM40,000 billboard was not the only surprise.

Immediately after Kelly said yes, David pulled out a box and inside, was a sparkling diamond ring.

“I cannot ask for a more memorable Valentine’s Day. I really want to thank David for this unique proposal,” said Kelly, a nail salon owner in Bangsar.

David, 26, said he had planned this surprise for some time. He only wanted the best for Kelly.

The accounts executive said he deliberately proposed on Valentine’s Day so that they could remember this day with fondness in the future.

“I work in an advertising company and am always thinking out of the box to come up with new concepts and ideas. I wanted my marriage proposal to be unique,” said David.

He added that luck was definitely on his side for him to be able to book one of the billboards along the LDP, which were highly in demand.

“The fact that I managed to book one especially on Valentine’s Day is so lucky. Hopefully, our marriage will be equally amazing,” said David.

The couple met at a friend’s house during Chinese New Year three years ago and started dating six months later.

David has already started planning for the wedding.

“It should be held sometime at the end of this year or early next year.

“I cannot wait to marry Kelly. She is an amazing woman and she deserves all the attention I shower on her,” he said.

I think previously there’s also another similar proposal or something like a big banner in Hilton Hotel too.

Wow could you believe that and will you do that if you have got the money? A big no no for me. Haha maybe I will just take the money for wedding purpose or honey moon or save for the future or anything but definitely not spend it the same way. Some ppl say it’s just plan stupid to spend the money this way as they could get the new Proton BLM with that amount of money but it’s different for different ppl, David and Kelly might think that it’s worth the money and happy with that.

Anyway congrats to them and hope you both a happy and a perfect husband and wife.
