When you come to Ipoh 怡保, besides Ipoh White Coffee, most people will think of the Bean Sprouts Chicken Rice 芽菜鸡 (Nga Choi Gai)! Yes! There’s where the Bean Sprouts Chicken Rice 芽菜鸡 origin from? I have no idea… but I know Ipoh is famous for the chicken rice =)

The chickens were were prepared like this? Hygiene is one of the concern!

The steam chicken 白切鸡 is not really fat but kinda hard to chew. It goes well with the Bean Sprouts (芽菜Tauge)!

Bean Sprouts (芽菜Tauge) seasoned with some pepper, light soya sauce and oil, it’s really awesomesauce. It’s shorter and fatter than the normal sprouts that you could find in KL or PJ. I heard ppl say that it is due to the fresh water so that the sprouts is fat and shorter? =)

Tried their Kuey Teow instead of the rice. The Kuey Teow is nice but I think they prepared for quite sometime (for fast serving) and the Kuey Teow soak too long in the soup so that made the Kuey Teow stick together! Lol.

Sour Plum Juice 酸梅水 which is best too!

On the other hand, Onn Kee 安记 is another shop next to it that sell Bean Sprouts Chicken Rice 怡保芽菜鸡 too but the crowd is less compared to Lou Wong 老黄. Moreover, if you know or have some Ipoh friends, they do not actually fancy these Chicken Rice shop as I think it’s too commercialized Chicken Rice. Lolz.

Perhaps you should recommend some real Bean Sprouts Chicken Rice 怡保芽菜鸡 to me? Something that is more traditional rather than just like Onn Kee 安记 and Lou Wong 老黄?

In conclusion, to me it’s just the Bean Sprouts (芽菜Tauge) is different from our version of Ipoh Chicken Rice in KL / PJ, other than that you could easily get better chicken rice here! I have tried New Restaurant Ipoh Chicken Rice, located along Jalan Gasing, the Chicken Rice there is even better.

BMW Efficient Dynamics Drive Day 2 – Final Day

Early in the morning we gathered for bamboo rafting. It was my first time rafting. It’s a good experience. Haha.

After that we have a demo of BMW Bicycle and how clean is the BMW diesel engine (It does not emit dirty smelly exhaust gas).

This BMW Bicycle worth RM19k?! wow. I have tested it, to me it’s just like normal saja except it’s light, hydraulic absorber and the brake is made of disc brake. =)

Then we headed to Indulgence Restaurant and Living at Ipoh again for our lunch before we head back to KL.

Poulet – rosted chicken roulade of spinach, pimiento, crushed peas, crispy onion rings & balsamic jus

Warm round cap with espresso sauce and ice cream

Joy is the satisfaction of traveling more than a 700 kilometeres without having to fuel up! Yup it’s amazing.

At the end of the session we were given a nice and cute thumb drive loaded with photos. It’s really nice!

Not forgetting I won myself RM600 Petronas vouchers! woot! I just need to complete a few questions about Petronas Dynamic Diesel and fuel saving tips.

Here’s my 5 fuel saving tips!
1) Do not carry things that’s not necessary in your car that will make your car heavier.
2) Check your tyre pressure make sure it’s always at the recommended pressure.
3) Do not speed at junction or make emergency break always.
4) Check and service your car as schedule.
5) Use the right petrol that suitable for your car.

When we reached Belum Resort, Pulau Banting, we were served champagne and some started Camwhoring

After all the photo taking session and enjoyed the breath taking scenery… We checked in to our own suite. It’s damn nice k!

Then we get to bath and rest awhile before we gathered for Buffet dinner.

There’s so much food and we can’t finish all of them!

The environment was nice and cozy but then there’s a lot of insectss which spoiled everything!!! Hahah but it will not stop us from having fun. Huai Bin went to take Jenga and some of us started to play Jenga and the loser drink!

Robb and some was a bit drunk and the worst thing is we need to get up early the next morning for more exciting activities… =)

After the dinner and fun time, went back to my room and to my surprise there’s a lot of gifts from BMW & Petronas! Woo hoo… Portable HDD, Solar Charge, Survival Kits etc. Thanks!

BMW Efficient Dynamics Drive Day 1 – Part 1

BMW EfficientDynamics is a continuous strategy by BMW for the reduction of fuel consumption and CO2 emission levels, whilst at the same time enhancing the performance and dynamism of their vehicles. After the BMW drive, my perception towards diesel car it’s changed and it’s awesome.

We started our journey from KLCC to Mutiara Damansara Petronas Station. I felt like a VIP and this is probably the only time that there’s a Police Escort me and I’m driving a BMW 5 Series 520d Sports.

We were given each RM40 Petronas Vouchers so that we could stocks our needs in Mutiara Damansara Petronas Station, which was our 1st stop of the journey.

Then there’s a demo and explanation on Petronas Dynamic Diesel by Fazil.

Then we continue our journey to Ipoh and had our lunch at Indulgence. Heard that Indulgence is a very famous fine dining place in Ipoh but I find it ok ok and nothing much to shout about. (Will update more about Ipoh Indulgence later)

Before we had our lunch there’s a Efficient Dynamic Product Training by Heng from BWM.

I learned a lot about diesel in this session and yeah I will consider diesel car now if I’m getting my future car. Then we participated in some of the Q&A and it was a fun session.

1) Diesel car is not dirty, smelly, noisy and pollution anymore.
2) Diesel car is powerful.
3) Diesel car have a long better fuel consumption.
4) Diesel car is easier to maintain.
5) Diesel car is cool!

After a fine dine lunch @ Indulgence Ipoh, we continued our journey to Belum Resort. It was a bit drizzling so we had to drive with caution.

After few hours drive, finally we reached our destination, Belum Resort – Pulau Banding.

My Set Lunch @ Old Town White Coffee – Ipoh Hor Hee!

Have you tried My Set Lunch at Old Town White Coffee? Recently it’s very hot in the radio ads saying that everyone from Ipoh should know what’s Hor Hee?! Haha, I have no idea what’s Ipoh Hor Hee till one fine day went to Old Town and tried that.

My Pan Mee Set RM5.90 – Pan Mee + Soup + Pepsi

My Hor Hee Set RM6.90 – Hor Hee + Pepsi

Personally I feel that the Pan Mee is nicer than the Hor Hee, if you sick you can try Hor Hee, if not pls go for Pan Mee as it taste like Chili Pan Mee, nice =)
