WWW 1 goes to Johor VVIP in a record bid of RM520,000
KUALA LUMPUR: A prominent VVIP from Johor is the proud owner of the much-sought-after vehicle registration number plate WWW 1.
A car enthusiast, the VVIP was the successful bidder who apparently paid RM520,000 for the coveted number.
That amount has now set a new record as the most expensive number plate to be sold in Malaysia.
Sources said the Road Transport Department was expected to inform the VVIP of his successful bid today.
The well-known personality has a collection of antique and latest car models.
All his vehicles are well-maintained and he has been seen driving them all around the state.
On Thursday, Transport Minister Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha announced that WWW 1 had set an all-time high bid.
The number surpassed the record set by “MCA 1” in 2010 sold for RM300,100.
The bidding for the highly-coveted vehicle registration prefix started on April 30 and ended on May 14.
During the period, thousands thronged the three Kuala Lumpur JPJ branches to place their bids for the “WWW” prefix, which is the acronym for “World Wide Web”.
There’s actually a few procedure to get good number but the cheap way or the backdoor way!
Tips on how to get your own Car Registration Plate Number
1) Don’t need to get any runner to settle the number for you but DO-IT-YOURSELF (DIY)!
2) Select at least 10 combinations of numbers that you are looking for because if you just have 1 number of your choice it would be most probably not available and you need to waste your time to choose again.
3) Check on the bidding board that those number are not in the bidding list so you will have your higher chances of getting the number you want!
4) Wear formal wear or smart casual but no shorts (wore short and they will not entertain you) and head to the “pengarah office” (find your way there and the office is right behind) tell them you want this number and they will be able to check for you. Let’s say the current the running letter is WWT, you could actually start placing your order for WWU as long as those numbers are not in the biddding list.
5) Alternative you could buy those older number that was in the bidding list but the owner didn’t take the number you have chances to get those nice number with cheaper price too!
KUALA LUMPUR: Some pleaded, others cajoled the Road Transport Department (JPJ) employees in a bid to have their very last-minute applications for the “WWW” registration numbers accepted.
Despite having two weeks to submit their bids, many still waited until the last day and rushed to JPJ branches yesterday to submit their bids.
Some pleaded with JPJ officers to accept their bids after the bidding closed at noon yesterday.
At the Wangsa Maju branch, many had started to queue up at the entrance even before it opened at 7.45am.
“I took the day off from work to be here,” said marketing executive Tan Sie Yie, 40, who placed bids for three numbers.
Tan said she was bidding for the “WWW” prefix as she believed it would bring prosperity and good luck.
She said one of her bids was for RM3,000 but declined to reveal the other two.
Kuala Lumpur JPJ director Mohd Nadzri Osman said they had prepared for the final rush by allowing bidders for “WWW” to go straight to the three dedicated counters without having to take numbers.
By 10am, the three counters had been increased to five.
Businessman Khairul Azuad, 34, said he decided to bid as it was a “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunity.
“It is a very attractive number so I am just going to try my luck,” he said, adding that he had been at the office by 8am as he had anticipated the rush.
When asked why he waited until the last day, he said: “I guess I’m a typical Malaysian.”
Just two minutes before the deadline, a man was seen rushing to the counter with 10 envelopes.
JPJ officers scrambled to register the bids, managing to accept four of the 10 bids before noon.
Mohd Nadzri had earlier predicted that the “WWW” series could attract a bid as high as RM500,000.
Transport Minister Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha had said that “WWW” received the highest number of bids ever recorded by the JPJ, far surpassing the previous record – for “WVW” at 4,750 bids.
The “WWW” series is popular because the surname Wong or Wang rhymes with “prosperity” and “emperor” in Chinese.
The wait is over. National car maker Proton has officially introduced its latest addition to the fold with the arrival of the Prevé. Proton has revealed the name of its latest model as Proton Preve (pronounced ‘prae-veh’) not as “PREVERT” as many people claimed in Facebook. LOLz. Hard to pronounce but please pronounce it correctly ya!
Proton Prevé vs KIA Forte.
Does the new Proton Prevé design a bit looks like or copy KIA Forte design? Hmm wondering.
Proton Prevé Sapphire – This is the special version of the Proton Prevé. It’s a concept drawn up by Proton Design to showcase the possibilities with the Prevé.
The new Proton Prevé is available in three variants, with two engine permutations and three transmissions – the list is led by the 1.6 CVT Premium, in turbocharged CamPro CFE form, followed by the 1.6 Executive CVT and 1.6 Executive five-speed manual, which both feature the normally-aspirated CamPro IAFM+ mill.
Six colours are available across the range for the new Proton Prevé, and these are Blue Lagoon, Fire Red, Genetic Silver, Solid White, Tranquility Black and a new shade called Elegant Brown.
Selling Price For Proton Prevé
Proton Prevé 1.6 Premium CVT: RM72,990 (metallic) and RM72,540 (solid) Proton Prevé 1.6 Executive CVT: RM62,990 (metallic) and RM62,540 (solid) Proton Prevé 1.6 MT Executive: RM59,990 (metallic) and RM59,540 (solid)
(on-the-road, inclusive of insurance)
The Proton Prevé comes with a full five-year or 150,000 km warranty (whichever comes first) which I think is really a great deal and a steal!
Ooops! Proton Preve, touch it to believe it..
“Proton Preve, touch it to believe it.. ” Opps some friend just notify me (via facebook) that the quality of the Proton Prevé really need to be improved and nuff say it’s still Proton?
Proton has unveiled its sleek new Preve and describes the turbo-charged car as its most technologically advanced vehicle.
The Preve pronounced pray-vay which means “to prove”, was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak at the Mines Resort City here yesterday.
“Over 27 years in the automotive industry, Proton has progressed by leaps and bounds and produced many models for both local and international markets.
“Proton Preve has been developed in accordance with global standards of quality and safety with many class leading features, which in combination with its competitive price, makes it a truly attractive car to own,” he said before launching the vehicle.
Unleashed: Najib giving the thumbs up for the Proton Preve yesterday. Looking on are (from left) Proton executive chairman Datuk Seri Mohd Khamil Jamil, International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, Proton adviser Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Proton group managing director Datuk Seri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir.
All three variants of the Preve the Executive, Executive CVT and the Premium priced between RM59,990 and RM72,990 come with a five-year or 150,000km warranty, whichever comes first.
The 1.6 Charged Fuel Efficiency (CFE) engine is Proton’s first turbo-charged engine and has an economical 6.6 litre/100km fuel consumption rating and a 10,000km service interval.
The Preve is available in six colours Blue Lagoon, Fire Red, Tranquility Black, Solid White, Genetic Silver and Elegant Brown.
Earlier in Kuala Selangor, Najib said the local plantation industry needed to be restructured to be more efficient, competitive and attractive for locals to work in.
“We need to make it more attractive, especially for the locals.
“According to statistics, the total number of workers in the palm oil sector totals more than 450,000. Of this, only 83,000 are locals,” he said before launching Sime Darby Plantation’s new Central Housing Complex (CHC) at Tennamaram Estate in Bestari Jaya.

Have you checked out the new Proton Saga FLX? The All New Proton Saga FLX provides consumers with greater savings on fuel consumption and smoother drive with the use of Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) technology. The new Saga FLX is so stylish and packed with class-leading features.
Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) CVT uses a belt instead of fixed gears to turn engine torque into power. This means smooth gearshifts, better fuel economy, less engine wear and tear and eco-friendly emissions.
The flexibility of a CVT allows the driving shaft to maintain a constant angular velocity over a range of output velocities. This can provide better fuel economy than other transmissions by enabling the engine to run at its most efficient revolutions per minute (RPM) for a range of vehicle speeds.
Stepped Automatic Transmission (SAT)
Allows you to switch instantly simulates the feel of a standard 6-speed automatic transmission. Unfortunately, the Saga FLX does not offer the “tiptronic” function as offered in the Inspira/Lancer.
Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)
In case of emergencies, ABS helps to keep the car stable under hard braking to prevent accident and injury. An anti-lock braking system is a safety system that allows the wheels to continue interacting tractively with the road surface as directed by driver steering inputs while braking, preventing the wheels from locking up and therefore avoiding skidding.
Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD)
EBD maximises stopping power and stablility by adjusting force applied to brake on each wheel. EBD is an automobile brake technology that automatically varies the amount of force applied to each of a vehicle’s brakes, based on road conditions, speed, loading, etc.
Always coupled with anti-lock braking systems, EBD can apply more or less braking pressure to each wheel in order to maximize stopping power whilst maintaining vehicular control.
SRS Airbags
It reduce the risk of sever injuries in the event of collision with the equipped dual SRS airbags. It is an occupant restraint consisting of a flexible envelope designed to inflate rapidly during an automobile collision, to prevent occupants from striking interior objects such as the steering wheel or a window.

New Myvi launched, priced from RM43,900 to RM57,400
KUALA LUMPUR: After five consecutive years as the country’s best selling car, the Perodua Myvi five-door hatchback has been replaced by a new model that promises better safety, fuel efficiency and a string of new enhancements.
Launched by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin here Thursday night, the new Myvi is available in six variants and priced between RM43,900 and RM57,400 – some RM500 to RM700 more than the previous model.
While still recognisably a Myvi, the new car has a more rounded front end and is 5mm lower to improve its aerodynamics.
Buyers can choose from three grades of Standard, Premium and Elegance, and transmission type of four-speed automatic or a five-speed manual.
The new Myvi is available in six variants.
While maintaining almost the same size as the outgoing model, the latest Myvi now includes electric power steering, projector headlamps and a two-tone dashboard.
In keeping with current automotive trends, the new Myvi includes upgraded safety features.
Where previously only the more expensive variants featured two front airbags, this item is now included across the range.
Also standard are Isofix mounting points for child seats and a three-point seatbelt for the rear centre passenger.
Premium and Elegance grades, however, get additional safety equipment such as anti-lock braking system with electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist.
Audio system for the Standard grade Myvi is the radio/CD type with MP3/WMA but the Premium grade features additional USB and Bluetooth support. The Elegance gets a multimedia system that comes with satellite navigation.
The 1.3-litre engine is derived from the older Myvi model but has been retuned to get an extra 4bhp for a total of 90bhp promising improved performance.
Perodua managing director Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh said the new car’s improved aerodynamics resulted in better fuel economy, something consumers are looking for in view of rising fuel prices.
“Compared with the old automatic Myvi which can go 13.5km on a litre of petrol, the new automatic model can go 14.6km on the same amount of fuel,” he said.
The original Myvi was launched in May 2005 and some 484,000 units were sold until April. During its six-year run, the model garnered 11 awards.
The new Myvi is sold in ebony black, medallion grey, glittering silver, pearl white, ivory white and a new colour, mystical purple.

Are you confidence in yourself? I know that a lot of us, including myself, do have the talents / skills and knowledge but just do not dare to take the next steps that might the stopper to your own success. If we do not take the next steps or overcome our lack of confident, we will be stagnant and will be living in dark forever.
That happened to me few years back where I’m really lack of confident in everything that I do. I will keep asking myself, am I doing the right thing? Will I be success in what I’m doing right now and what if I made the wrong choice and end up in a failure? We tend to care a lot on what other people comment or think of what we do will be the right choice or not, that might be another stopper if your friends or family do not support in what you are planning to do or currently doing.
It took me a long time not to judge myself through someone else eyes. I have actually come out with a tagline for myself to follow and it will be always my guide and now it’s my principle.
“有才华就不要被埋没。有梦想就要去追求。”
– It means, if we have the talents or skills, we must show and prove it, but not keeping it to ourselves. If we have a dream or target, we have to work hard to achieve it!
