Haha. Once I appear in TV (Astro Awani)… Live Interview about Touch n’ go. Now I’m in newspaper (TheSun) and magazine (A-Magazine)! lol.
Why? Because I’m a winner for the Canon Photo Marathon Malaysia 2009. Woo hoo I won a Canon EFS 55-250mm IS Lens. Haha. Now I just want to be interviewed or become a guest or radio host then my life will be complete. Lol.

Finally I have claimed my prize from Canon! This is the prize that I won myself from Canon Photo Marathon 2009.
“This annual photo marathon has created history each year as not only has it managed to gather photo enthusiasts around the country in one venue but it also helps in creating a binding tie among photography lovers through a competitive experience regardless of race and culture,” said Mr. Simon Wong, Assistant Director of Canon Marketing (Malaysia).
Renowned names from the photography industry were there to judge the hundred of participation and find the shining stars. The panel of judges included (Mr Sean Soh of Sean Studio, En Zainal Abd. Halim of Reuters Malaysia, Mr Joe Chan of Pro Kit, Mr Ng Kok Leong of The Star, Mr Peter Tan of Peter Tan Photography & Mr Zung of The Photoz). Judging was based on creativity in theme interpretation, use of colors, light / shadows, composition of photograph, and relevance to the theme given in the marathon.
Never expected to win anything but merely luck and I guess maybe there’s something different. I did a twist on the lense for the effect. So am I creative? It’s worth RM 1,000.00 Thanks!

It’s a good entry level lense I guess. Hope can get the L Lense (Lanci Lense) but better than nothing lo. =p

These were the photo uploading PC. There’s 100-200 pc there but the down time was terrible. I was lucky that I able to upload in my 1st try! =)
I was joking there my those participants who can’t upload due to server error or too busy that I’m the winner liao since all of you can’t upload and only my submission so I’m the sole winner! =p haha and really I’m one of the theme winner, shooting in progress theme.
The event started off with a performance by last few years Astro Star Quest winner.
Some of the participants checking out map and planning how and where to shoot those nice theme as explaining by the Canon representative.
There’s 3 theme : -
1) Splash
2) Red
3) Shooting in progress
I think of shooting something different so I come out with the 3 photo below. This effect is by twisting your lense when you snap, but I’m not sure it will spoil your lense or not. =p
can this be considered as red theme?
thought of submitting this for the shooting in progress or red theme too. but didn’t submit this.

Looking at Sunway Lagoon directory so can plan what to shoot according to the theme.

Wahhhh…. really cannot believe that I actually one of the winner? Am I dreaming or what? Out of so many pro DSLR users and I this noob can be one of the winner?! I actually just to get experience and just simply shoot… Or those super pro ppl don’t even bother to upload for those prizes? haha.

Just back from Canon Photo Marathon @ Sunway Lagoon. Damn tired… went there around 7am + and started only at 9am.
Venue : Sunway Lagoon Theme Park (Elephant Walk Entrance)
Date : 10th October 2009 (Saturday)
Time : 0700 hours – 2100 hours
Read the instructions and Terms & Conditons, it’s very important. They do not allow re-entry once you get out of Sunway Lagoo. If you want to re-entry, you need to pay for the entrance fees.
RM30 for Non-Canon users be it DSLR or point and shoot cameras..

This time round, no breakfast and no lunch, heard my colleague said last year Canon Photo Marathon they had it in Times Square KL and they provided fooood. But this year, they did and and the food sold inside is just 3-4 times expensive than the normal price. RM5 for a can drink… 100plus or sprite, RM10 for fried rice, etc,that’s too much?
Amphitheater full of red shirt ppl… Haha damn red. Mostly is Canon users and all the participants get a Red T-Shirt + a cap.
