Bersih 3.0 : The day when Malaysians unite as one! Did you Bersih? Updates on Bersih 3.0 Videos & Photos

Monday, April 30th, 2012 3,217 views

Sudah Bersih! I’m glad that we all Malaysians from all walks of life, culture, religion, race and believe walked hand in hand united as one for a common cause, a common believe for Bersih 3.0, be it from a kid to a old man or old ladies.

We made it and Bersih 3.0 is a great success I would say and all the objective were met. It’s my virgin rally and my 1st time to taste the tear gas and really feel the heart & sould and support from all the Malaysians @ Dataran Merdeka! I would say it’s really a strong crowds and all is for the better Malaysia! This was a really great experience and I’m glad that I joined in this rally and proud to be Malaysian.

Customized Bersih 3.0 t-shirt out of creativity

All the Bersih 3.0 t-shirt was sold out so was force to do our own customized Bersih 3.0 t-shirt out of creativity.

Summary Timeline

12.30pm – Met up with friends and wanted to park the car at Taman Paramount LRT station but was full and forced to park at home and walk to the station. Station was clear and not much ppl there.

12.45pm – Started our journey to Pasar Seni LRT station and join in the Bersih 3.0 crowd.

1.00pm – Reach Pasar Seni station and saw a lot of police all over.

1.15pm – Grab some water & bread as our brunch and join in the crowd.

1.45pm – Started the marching from Central Market to Dataran Merdeka.

2.30pm till 5pm

Where the great experience started! Everywhere you can see Police and FRU.

Helicopter flying around to control the situation of Bersih 3.0 rally?

People shouting “Bersih Bersih Bersih!” thru out the whole rally.

People shouting “Hidup Rakyat! Hidup Hidup! Bersih… Bersih!” thru out the whole rally.

People shouting “Reformasi Reformasi Reformasi!” when they saw Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim.

People singing “Negarku Tanah Tumpahnya Darahku…” National anthem of Malaysia.

2.30pm – Asked to sit on the street “Duduk Bantah” which was a peaceful rally so far.

3.00pm – Bersih announced success and disperse, “Sudah Bersih!”

3.10pm – Tear Gas was fired near Masjid Jamek LRT station?! It was announced success and people started to moved out but suddenly Tear Gas was shot at the Bersih 3.0 participants!

Tear gas was then release and water cannon was shot to the crowd when someone break the barricade at Dataran Merdeka? It was mentioned that those who break in the barricade were not Bersih 3.0 participants but merely some people to buat Kacau?

All the participants of the Bersih 3.0 rally started to run and trying to hide and move away.

Saw kids crying… saw people faints… people was fed-up and annoyed why Tear Gas was shot!

Was lucky enough to saw a bus and ride in to Mid Valley and took Taxi home.

It was such an experience and dead tiring but it’s all worth while for the priceless experience in hand with all Malaysians to fight for a better Malaysia!

The crowd singing Bersih Song! Ole-ole-ole…

Tear gas was release to the crowd @ Bersih 3.0

1st time experience Tear Gas and seriously no joke, it will cause you eyes and mouth discomfort and difficult to breath but luckily was well prepared with mask, water and salt so we survived! Next time must remember to bring goggle as well! It’s good to protect the eyes.

Kena tear gas for the very 1st time and take salt! Thanks bus driver rescue us! @ Bersih 3.0

Was running and escaping for the Tear Gas and was lucky that there’s a bus and we manage to escape to Mid Valley.

There’s so much stories and news about the Police Car being overturned by the Bersih 3.0 protesters but it’s only merely accident after the police driver pass out.

Police CAR overturned by Bersih 3.0 participants / protesters

The police personnel who was driving the police car which crashed into several Bersih 3.0 protesters said he was not fully concious when the accident occurred. He was “confused” as he was losing a lot of blood after a “hard object hit his head on the left side”.

It’s not that the Police personnel want to ramp to anyone and it’s not that the Bersih 3.0 protesters want to overturned the Police Car but because someone claimed that there’s victim under the car so the Police CAR was overturned to safe live.

Driver: I passed out before crash

The police personnel who was driving the police car which crashed into several Bersih 3.0 protesters said he was not fully concious when the accident occurred.

Speaking to reporters at his hospital bed at the Kuala Lumpur general hospital, Mohamad Kamil Paimin (right) said he was “confused” as he was losing a lot of blood after a “hard object hit his head on the left side”.

He added that he had passed out after that and came to after receiving treatment at the hospital.

“I don’t even know the car crashed. I had already passed out,” he said.

Mohamad Kamil, who is a corporal based in Hulu Terengganu, said he was heading to Dataran from the police training centre when he was caught in the melee.

Police personnel, Mohd Kamil received six stitches for his head injury.

“I am unfamiliar with the roads. The protesters were throwing things at the car. I don’t know what happened to the windows on the driver and front passengers side, all I know is that the windshield was smashed,” he said.

The 23-year-old, who was seen being taken out of the car and protected by protesters, also agreed when reporters suggested that he had panicked.

Mohd Kamil received six stitches for his head injury.

Videographer saved cop out of ‘humanity’

Meanwhile, Al Hijrah videographer Mohd Azmi Mohd Salleh said that he was compelled to jump in front of the protesters to save Mohamad Kamil out of a “sense of humanity”.

“People say I wanted to be a hero. No, I helped him out of a sense of humanity. No one was there to help him at the time. He was alone and passed out and there was a lot of protesters,” he said.

He said the protesters had pulled him aside and assaulted him until his crash helmet slipped off, so much so that he received nine stitches on his scalp.

Al Hijrah videographer Mohd Azmi Mohd Salleh said that he was compelled to jump in front of the protesters to save Mohamad Kamil out of a sense of humanity

“I managed to slip away from the crowd, and found that I was bleeding profusely,” said Mohd Azmi, who had still managed to send his footage of the crash to his TV station.

He said he was wearing the crash helmet as he arrived at the scene on his motorbike, having videotaped Mohamad Kamil’s police car prior to the crash.

“He was not speeding. He had passed out and the car went out of control,” he said, corroborating the police officer’s story.

Mohd Azmi, who showed his bloodied media tag, had earlier received a visit from Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein, inspector-general of police Ismail Omar and Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

The trio also visited traffic police lance corporal Mohd Nasir Mansor, who was also injured during the rally yesterday.

Is this the phone or signal jammer that causing most of the phone not reachable and can’t access to internet during Bersih 3.0? Personally I can’t access the internet and very difficult to call out or receive call. Could this be the device to cause the interference that affect all the telco signals? Hmmm…

Ambiga: Najib cannot ignore massive Bersih 3.0 turnout

Bersih Claims Success

Ambiga: We can’t control what politicians say

KUALA LUMPUR: Election watchdog Bersih 3.0 has no control over what politicians say at its public events, its co-chairman S Ambiga said.

“We did not know that they [opposition] leaders were going to speak. Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim came up and spoke to the crowd. There were groups in the crowd which wanted to hear the opposition leaders speak.

“I cannot control what they say,” she said amidst reports that opposition leaders had incited the crowd to breach the barriers at Dataran Merdeka during the Bersih 3.0 rally yesterday.

She added that the plan for the gathering did not allow for politicians to speak.

In fact, she said that had Bersih known that politicians were going to deliver speeches, it would not allow them to do so.

“We wouldn’t have allowed them to speak,” she told a press conference today.

Yesterday, the peaceful assembly of about 80,000 people turned violent at about round 3pm when a few protesters broke through the barriers at Dataran Merdeka, which was sealed off.

The “attack” on the barricades prompted the police to fire tear gas and water cannons to disperse the crowd.

The clash between the police and the protesters lasted for about four hours.

No political speeches

There were many news reports which singled out PKR deputy president Azmin Ali and Anwar for inciting the crowd to breach the barrier.

Azmin reportedly told the crowd to reclaim Dataran which “did not belong to Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL)”.

Bersih steering committee member, Maria Chin Abdullah, who also present, said the event was to feature only speeches from Ambiga, co-chairman A Samad Said and songs.

“Before April 28, all the NGOs agreed to exclude any political speeches by political leaders… that was also agreed upon by the political parties,” she said.

Ambiga said that she could not comment on Azmin’s actions as she did not witness it in person and asked for it to be investigated.

“But Anwar [when he was on the truck with Ambiga] did not order the crowd to charge,” she said.

She added that Bersih had the last word, and which was to ask the crowd to disperse.

“Let me tell you what happened: I was on the truck and we told the crowd to disperse. We were moving into Jalan Tun Perak to tell the crowd to disperse in stages.

“Then someone charged [at the barriers]; it had nothing to do with us; we want to know as well.

“In fact, it is against what Bersih had announced,” she added.

‘Work of agent provocateurs’

Ambiga said that this could have been the work of agent provocateurs and called for a full inquiry by Suhakam into the whole protest.

Ambiga said the crowd was under control until the tear gas was fired.

“What I saw from the truck was amazing: people were gathered peacefully.

“All purported acts of violence took place only after the tear gas was fired; until then we have complete control,” she said, giving credit to PAS Unit Amal which provided most of the security for the day.

She said that such large crowds can be controlled as can be seen during Thaipusam and Wesak Day celebrations.

Ambiga also asked why the train stations were shut during the protest when police were dispersing the crowd after 3pm.

“These people wanted to leave but couldn’t. Who gave (RapidKL) the order to do so?” she said.

On the incident where a police car was overturned near Sogo, she said:

“There were some accounts that the car was overturned because the crowd believed that someone was under the car. Don’t just publish the picture of an overturned car. Please don’t make assumptions,” she said.

She again called for a full inquiry into the rally to identify who were the trouble-makers.

As for organising another rally, Ambiga said that nothing has been decided yet, adding that the group will continue to highlight the irregularities in the electoral process.
“The government must answer and not deflect [attention] from the issue just because of the violence (at the rally).

“Some 250 000 Malaysians turned up to demand for free and fair elections; what is the government’s response?” she asked.

Bersih chief medical officer, Dr Farouk Musa, said that 117 demonstrators were treated for minor injuries and dehydration.

He added that those who were hospitalised had been discharged this morning.

Review : Photo and Video Quality Of HTC HD7

Thursday, December 9th, 2010 2,535 views

Okay this post will be on how the photo and video quality of this HTC HD7 by Maxis10. This HTC HD7 has a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with a 720p movie mode. Overall the photo was just average and not too impressive for my own opinion, but it’s only a camera phone if want awesome photo then just get a DSLR lo. =p

This HTC HD7 is big and easy to hold as a camera, but the camera button is really hard to press, you need to press real hard in order to take picture and sometimes you time to shake the camera and hence the picture goes blurred. On the other hand, Windows Phone 7 does allow you to jump straight into the camera app from a locked screen (by holding down the shutter button) which is convenient to me compared to iPhone.

Few of the draw back :-
- WP7′s inability to remember camera (or camcorder) settings. If you off the flash, each time you turn on the camera and wanted to shoot without flash but the flash will back to default settings which is really troublesome to use and annoying. Not only that, same goes to the video settings.

- The camera buttone is really hard to press.

More photo comparison between iPhone 4 and HTC HD7. Look at how this HTC HD7 score in the photo above. HTC HD7 actually takes good photo but provided with good lighting conditon and not low light condition which will caused the pink effect. I still think that iPhone takes better photo compared to the rest. Do you agree with me?

As to the video output itself, it’s quite presentable stuff. Check out the sample video taken below. The refresh rate is actually quite good.

Sample Video taken with HTC HD7

Sample Video taken with iPhone

The video format captured in HTC HD7 is .mp4 and the file size is comparative smaller than iPhone which store in .mov file.

iPhone Video Size – 00:00:31 – 38.4MB
HTC HD7 Video Size (VGA 640*480) – 00:00:31 – 8.13MB only!

All in all, the HTC HD7′s camera and video recording seem on par with other smartphone.

Cendol

Top 10: Cendol Spots in KL
Wednesday, 10/06/09 – 21:14PM Filed in Blog by myra | Comments: 0
Tags: klue, kl, kuala lumpur, malaysia, cendol, food

Did you hear about the possibility of the temperature going up by 3′C? Blame it on El Nino. While it’s getting hot in here, beat the heat with a good bowl of cendol.

1. Penang Road Famous Teowchew Chendul, Giant Supermarket Subang Jaya
You read it right. The famous Penang Road cendol right here in the Klang Valley. Unless you’re planning on a road trip up north soon, the Subang outlet is as authentic as it gets. According to PeteFormation Foodie Adventure, “the taste of chendol with lots of giant red beans is out of this world. Wa lau leh, yummy dessert on a hot day!”

2. SS15, Subang Jaya
If you’re familiar with this area in Subang, then you’d probably seen the long lines. Located near the Shell petrol station, McDonalds and the ol’ Gazebo, Bangsar-Babe says, “short strands of pandan jelly, red beans and sweet corn in shaved ice drizzled with a generous amount of thick palm sugar and topped with fresh coconut milk. MMmmMm… how can you say no to this?? It’s so good that you will be planning on ordering a second bowl…even before you finish your first.” Enough said.

3. Cendol Titiwangsa
Paying bills and waiting in line are just sucky. The next time you need to settle your phone/Streamyx bill, drop by the Titiwangsa TM branch, spot the man with the goods and and have a bowl of cendol under the tree. “The combination of gula melaka and santan with the pulut makes this throat cooler thicker, sweeter and a steadying hand on thoughts of mayhem,” says Fried Chillies. While you’re there, do us a favour and have some rojak.

4. Cendol Klang
This cendol outlet has been serving its customers since the 70′s. Apparently the owner used to sell by the side of the road on his motorcycle for over 20 years before he could afford a shoplot. Ipoh Mali Talak Sombong says, “all four of us had the original cendol which has a thick, creamy coconut milk with soft but not mushy cendol, red kidney beans and sufficient gula melaka syrup.” Yumz! See here and here (with address and map) for more reviews on Cendol Klang.

5. Little Penang Cafe
I like the cendol here because it’s not too sweet. Priced at RM4.20 per bowl, it has just the right amount of coconut milk and gula melaka.

6. Cendol Mamanda, Ampang
According to our colleague and Ampang girl, Claudia, you can find this cendol next to the Mamanda reservoir. She says it’s amazingly sweet. Look out for a van which apparently has been parked there since Claudia was a kid.

7. Brickfields
We heard there’s a good cendol stall in front of the 7-11 behind YMCA (Jalan Tun Sambanthan 4). But as it turns out, it’s Ah Keong’s ABC Stall. Ais Kacang, not cendol… Sorry! For what it’s worth, masak-masak says the Ais Kacang there is all kinds of crazy: gula melaka syrup, evaporated milk; “rainbow of goodies” (black cincau, green cendol, red bean, large kidney beans and corn) and topped with young coconut flesh! Read her review here.

8. Nyonya Kitchen, No. 80 Jalan SS21/39, Damansara Uptown
According to Malaysian Food Guide, Nyonya Kitchen makes a mean cendol because it tastes “like magic”. Priced at RM2.50, this signature dessert comes with additional gula melaka.

9. Seksyen 17, Petaling Jaya
This one’s pretty close to our office at Jaya One. Located on Jalan 17/1A (close to the Rothman roundabout), some of us at the office agree it’s got to be the best cendol in the area.

10. Bukit Rambai Cendol
Melaka cendol makes its presence felt in the Valley by opening an outlet in Kelana Mall. Auntie Koh, the woman behind this famous peranakan cendol, makes cendol with fresh creamy coconut milk and generous servings of gula melaka. It opens from 10 am to 6 pm.
