Flappy Bird no longer available from the App Store or Google Play – Game over! #RIPFlappyBird

Flappy Bird is a 2013 bird flying game developed in Hanoi by Vietnam-based developer Nguyễn Hà Đông (Dong Nguyen) and published by .GEARS Studios, a small, independent game developer also based in Vietnam. The game, which was released on May 24, 2013, was removed from both Apple’s App Store and Google Play on February 9, 2014 by the game’s author.

This Flappy Bird is a very simplistic yet addictive game compared to its zeitgeist-dominating counterparts like Candy Crush and Angry Birds.

Flappy Bird no longer available from the App Store or Google Play

Flappy Bird is a side-scrolling mobile game featuring 2D retro style graphics. The objective is to direct a flying bird, which moves continuously to the right, between each oncoming set of pipes without colliding with them, which otherwise ends the game. The bird briefly flaps upward each time the player taps the screen, and the player is scored on the number of pipe sets the bird successfully passes through.

How To Beat Flappy Bird (Best Method)

Dong Nguyen claimed that Flappy Bird had “ruined his simple life” by attracting too much attention from a critical games press or unpleasant players. The app was said to be bringing in $50,000 a day in revenue, making Nguyen’s promise to remove it hard to believe, but he has.

“I am sorry ‘Flappy Bird’ users, 22 hours from now, I will take ‘Flappy Bird’ down. I cannot take this anymore.”

“It is not anything related to legal issues. I just cannot keep it anymore.”

“I also don’t sell ‘Flappy Bird’, please don’t ask.”

“And I still make games.”

Flappy Bird Highscore

There’s no need to shed tears if you’ve already installed it, since you can still play it and continue to frustrate over how terribly low your scores are. My best score is 23! It’s a little sad to see Flappy Bird go 🙁 Hopefully – it’ll make a triumphant comeback one day!

If you have not downloaded Flappy Bird and wanted to try the game, you can still play the online version of Flappy Bird here!

This blog is a platform to share what I love in life: food (eat), travel (play), photography (art) and life (thoughts and ideas). With passion for food, I share my foodie adventures and indulgences here. “There is no love sincerer than the love of food.”

Traveling makes us a better human being as we recognise the similarities and celebrate the differences of cultures between where we travel to and where we come from. “The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.”

Photography do more than just capturing the best moments in our lives; they also help us tell our life stories. “Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”
