When you come to Ipoh 怡保, besides Ipoh White Coffee, most people will think of the Bean Sprouts Chicken Rice 芽菜鸡 (Nga Choi Gai)! Yes! There’s where the Bean Sprouts Chicken Rice 芽菜鸡 origin from? I have no idea… but I know Ipoh is famous for the chicken rice =)
Lou Wong Bean Sprouts Ipoh Chicken Rice 老黄怡保芽菜鸡
The chickens were were prepared like this? Hygiene is one of the concern!
The steam chicken 白切鸡 is not really fat but kinda hard to chew. It goes well with the Bean Sprouts (芽菜Tauge)!
Bean Sprouts (芽菜Tauge) seasoned with some pepper, light soya sauce and oil, it’s really awesomesauce. It’s shorter and fatter than the normal sprouts that you could find in KL or PJ. I heard ppl say that it is due to the fresh water so that the sprouts is fat and shorter? =)
Tried their Kuey Teow instead of the rice. The Kuey Teow is nice but I think they prepared for quite sometime (for fast serving) and the Kuey Teow soak too long in the soup so that made the Kuey Teow stick together! Lol.
Sour Plum Juice 酸梅水 which is best too!
On the other hand, Onn Kee 安记 is another shop next to it that sell Bean Sprouts Chicken Rice 怡保芽菜鸡 too but the crowd is less compared to Lou Wong 老黄. Moreover, if you know or have some Ipoh friends, they do not actually fancy these Chicken Rice shop as I think it’s too commercialized Chicken Rice. Lolz.
Perhaps you should recommend some real Bean Sprouts Chicken Rice 怡保芽菜鸡 to me? Something that is more traditional rather than just like Onn Kee 安记 and Lou Wong 老黄?
In conclusion, to me it’s just the Bean Sprouts (芽菜Tauge) is different from our version of Ipoh Chicken Rice in KL / PJ, other than that you could easily get better chicken rice here! I have tried New Restaurant Ipoh Chicken Rice, located along Jalan Gasing, the Chicken Rice there is even better.
Okay… So our fuel price of RON95 will remain at the same price at RM1.9 / liter for now. The question is the fuel price remain for now and “Now” refer to when? How long will this last and will it be announced the price increasing in Fuel price next month? or next 2 month or next half year?
We have experienced that there’s announcement that Fuel price will not be increase but soon it’s announced again that the price will be increased the next day. So, please don’t increase for now till 2099. Thank you! If not I gonna eat bread and white rice everyday liao.
Another question if the world fuel price drop our fuel price will remain too? =_=
Let’s just watch and see what’s the next upcoming news. Hope it will not get me into heart attack!
Prices of RON95 petrol, diesel and LPG to remain the same: Ismail Sabri
PUTRAJAYA: In a move that will please many Malaysians, the government has decided to maintain the prices of RON95 petrol, diesel and liquefied petroleum gas for the time being.
Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the decision was made after an in-depth discussion on subsidy rationalisation at Wednesday’s weekly cabinet meeting.
“The decision was made taking into consideration the interest of the people,” he told a news conference at his ministry, here Wednesday.
The government would however continue to study the need for subsidy rationalisation in view of the increase in the prices of oil and gas in the global market.
Asked whether there was any discussion on the time frame for the prices to remain, Ismail Sabri said there was no discussion about time frame. The price of RON95 petrol is now RM1.90 per litre and diesel at RM1.80 per litre. LPG is priced at RM1.90 per kg.
The last time the prices for these three items were adjusted was in December last year.
Ismail Sabri said the decision to retain the prices of the three items meant that the government had to bear fuel subsidy totalling RM18bil.

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysians need not worry about any new increase in the price of RON95 petrol, diesel and liquefied petroleum gas as the Government has announced that it is keeping the current rate for the time being.
Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the decision was made with the people’s interest in mind.
He also stressed that the Cabinet’s move had nothing to do with talk about a pending general election.
In other developments:
> Economists called for a minimum wage council to protect public interest;
> Barisan Nasional Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin described it as a people-centric decision; and
> Consumer groups cautioned that government subsidies would eventually have to be phased out gradually.
PUTRAJAYA: Prices of RON95 petrol, diesel and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) will remain at the present rates for now.
Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the decision to maintain the prices was in the interest of the people.
He, however, could not specify how long the current prices would be maintained.
“I am sorry, I am not able to say exactly how long for now’ can be.
“It can be for a month, two months perhaps or maybe four months,” he told a press conference yesterday.
RON95 is sold at RM1.90 per litre, diesel at RM1.80 while LPG is priced at RM1.90 per kilogramme. The prices were effective from Dec 4 last year.
The decision to keep the current prices would mean that the subsidies borne by the Government will rise from RM8bil to RM18bil this year.
Ismail Sabri said the decision to maintain the prices was reached at a Cabinet meeting.
“The Government takes into consideration the people’s interest. It has nothing to do with a general election. It also has nothing to do with the so-called pressure from the Opposition and the scary stories that they have cooked up about an impending price hike,” he said.
Ismail Sabri said the public should not be misled by the Opposition’s talk that the Government would increase the petrol price by as much as 30 sen.
“Stop believing them but listen to us as we always ensure that we will take into consideration the welfare of the people before we make any decision,” he said.
However, Ismail Sabri said the Government would continue to study the need for subsidy rationalisation following the increase in the prices of petrol and gas in the global market.
He also said the Government would reduce its subsidy burden by more than RM800mil when the diesel subsidies for deep-sea fishing vessels and nine classes of commercial vehicles were removed on June 1.

Are you confidence in yourself? I know that a lot of us, including myself, do have the talents / skills and knowledge but just do not dare to take the next steps that might the stopper to your own success. If we do not take the next steps or overcome our lack of confident, we will be stagnant and will be living in dark forever.
That happened to me few years back where I’m really lack of confident in everything that I do. I will keep asking myself, am I doing the right thing? Will I be success in what I’m doing right now and what if I made the wrong choice and end up in a failure? We tend to care a lot on what other people comment or think of what we do will be the right choice or not, that might be another stopper if your friends or family do not support in what you are planning to do or currently doing.
It took me a long time not to judge myself through someone else eyes. I have actually come out with a tagline for myself to follow and it will be always my guide and now it’s my principle.
“有才华就不要被埋没。有梦想就要去追求。”
– It means, if we have the talents or skills, we must show and prove it, but not keeping it to ourselves. If we have a dream or target, we have to work hard to achieve it!

The Cantonese-language production 3D Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy had earned 17 million Hong Kong dollars ($2.2 million) as of Tuesday since opening last week, according to figures provided by producer Stephen Shiu.
That’s nearly seven times the total take so far for Hollywood thriller Scream 4, which has earned $HK2.5 million ($320,000).
Sex and Zen — a remake of a 1991 Hong Kong movie by the same name — features full nudity and camouflaged lovemaking scenes but does not show actual sexual intercourse.
The movie, which stars Japanese porn stars Hara Saori and Suo Yukiko and Hong Kong actress Vonnie Liu, tells the story of a sexually frustrated scholar in ancient China who loses himself in the harem of a duke he befriends.
The film brought in $HK2.78 million ($360,000) on its opening day last Thursday, eclipsing the previous first-day record set by James Cameron’s 2009 3D sci-fi epic Avatar, which earned $HK2.63 million ($340,000) on its first day.
Shiu, whose father Stephen Shiu Sr served as executive producer on the original Sex and Zen, said he believes he has capitalised on a huge desire for 3D erotic movies.
“We met people’s expectations. People have always thought that you need 3D technology for this kind of content. So people were very curious,” he said.
Sex and Zen bills itself as the world’s first 3D erotic film, although Shiu acknowledges that a South Korean production — last year’s Natali — hit the market before his release did.
However, Shiu’s movie is still a pioneering attempt at using new 3D technology in theatrical releases of erotic films, given that the market in the West is now largely dominated by DVD releases.
The movie’s Hong Kong performance has also been boosted by an influx of mainland Chinese viewers, whom Shiu estimates accounted for up to half of the business at some theatres.
Although former British colony Hong Kong returned to Chinese rule in 1997, it still maintains a separate political system — and film regulatory regime.
While Hong Kong has a film ratings system, mainland China doesn’t, which effectively rules out erotic content.
Sex and Zen received a restricted rating in Hong Kong, allowing only audiences aged 18 and older to see the film.
It’s not the first time mainland viewers have traveled to Hong Kong to evade censorship by Chinese authorities. Many mainlanders crossed over to watch the uncut version of Oscar-winning Taiwanese director Ang Lee’s sexually explicit 2007 spy thriller Lust, Caution.
Hong Kong theatre operators have also sought to cash in on the novelty factor by staging women-only screenings.
Sex and Zen has also been released in about a dozen theatres in Chinese communities in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, but Shiu didn’t have box office results.
The movie is scheduled to be released in South Korea on May 12, and in France, Italy and India in June. Shiu is also targeting a May release for Singapore, although the filmmakers are still working with local censors on the final cut.
