Win tickets with U.O.X for Lee Hom Live in Malaysia

Thursday, April 9th, 2009 3,251 views

Do you know who is Wang Lee hom? Leehom is an artist/producer/writer with SONY BMG Taiwan. He is also a film actor.

After studying music at the Eastman School of Music, Williams College, and the Berklee College of Music, Leehom burst into the Chinese pop music scene in 1998 with his album Revolution, which he both composed and produced, garnering awards for both “Best Male Artist of the Year” and “Best Producer of the Year” in Taiwan’s 1999 Golden Melody Awards, the “Grammies” of Chinese pop music. He was 23 years old, making him the youngest person ever to win the award in either of the two categories.

Since his debut, Leehom has consistently been nominated for the “Best Male Artist of the Year” award nine years in a row, solidifying his role as one of the most important, influential and prolific artists in Chinese music. Leehom was awarded again “The Best Producer” in 2004 and “The Best Male Vocalist” in 2006 by Golden Melody Award Committee.

Leehom plays over 10 musical instruments. In his albums and concerts, Leehom can be heard playing some or all of the instruments including: piano, drums, guitar, bass, violin, vibraphone, erhu, and xun. His concert tours are massive productions, 3 hour long shows in Asia’s largest arenas. In 2006, his solo concert toured in Taiwan, China, Japan, HK, Singapore and Malaysia, including a sold-out performance at the 80,000 seat Shanghai arena. Leehom did not study Chinese until he was 17, but is now fluent in both speech and writing. Leehom’s work ethic and dedication to Chinese music has inspired the Chinese young generation.

To me, Leehom is a very talented Artist / Singer, to most of the girls, Leehom is one of the most handsome Chinese Male singer. A lot of my friend who do not really speaks or know Chinese / Cantonese actually listen to his songs and they can memorized it very well and sing @ Karaoke, just imagine that!

Let’s hope Leehom will make a blast this year for his concert in Malaysia too.

SERVICE INTERRUPTION

Dear Valued Customers,

Referring to our earlier statement on 31 March 2009 on the disruption of our Internet services due to circuit faults on the Southeast Asia-Middle East-Western Europe 3 (SMW3) cable network between Tuas, Singapore and Penang linking Malaysia to Hong Kong and Asia Pacific Cable Network 2 (APCN2) near Chongming, China connecting Malaysia to the United States, Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) wishes to announce that there is a delay in the restoration of Internet services due to technical problems at the repairing stages.

Due to the delay, full recovery of Internet services is now expected to be on 9 April 2009.

Customers using Internet services may continue to experience slow browsing while accessing websites hosted in the US and Hong Kong. In addition, customers using other IP services such as Virtual Private Network (VPN) and other critical business applications linked to the US and Hong Kong may also experience some service degradation. To alleviate the problem, some of the links have been directed to alternate routes to ease the congestion.

TM wishes to assure its customers that it is undertaking all necessary measures to restore communications services for its customers as soon as possible.

Customers can call TM at 100 and select “Internet Services” or e-mail us at help@tm.com.my for any Internet related problems.

To alleviate the problem, some of the links have been rerouted to alternate routes to ease the congestion.

Restoration works on the affected cables are already in progress. However, during the restoration process, traffic to Northern America and Hong Kong may experience degradation. However, traffic to other countries will not be affected. TM expects complete recovery of its services by 5 April 2009 and will make further announcements on the progress of the restoration works.

Malaysian F1 GP suspended due to storm & Button wins rain-shortened Malaysian GP

Monday, April 6th, 2009 3,097 views

woo… a lot ppl screaming they wasted their money as the race had to stop halfway after 32 laps due to heavy down pour… refund? Haha. Luckily I did not go for this F1, at 1st my bro said interested and ask me along but F1 not really my cup of tea coz it’s expensive and have to bare the hot sun unless got sponsor. =)

Did you went to Sepang for this Malaysian Grand Prix?

Malaysian F1 GP suspended due to storm

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) – The Malaysian Grand Prix has been suspended after 32 of the scheduled 56 laps due to a violent thunderstorm.

The race can restart later Sunday if conditions improve, but due to the twilight start, visibility is poor due to darkness and the track is near flooded.

Button wins rain-shortened Malaysian GP

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) – Brawn GP’s Jenson Button won a chaotic rain-shortened Malaysian Formula One Grand Prix on Sunday, with just 33 laps completed and only half points awarded.

BMW’s Nick Heidfeld was second and Toyota’s Timo Glock was third.

This was the first race stopped short due to weather conditions since the 2003 Brazilian Grand Prix, and the first to result in distribution of only half the points since the 1991 Australian Grand Prix.

Under Formula One rules, only half points are awarded if less than three-quarters of the scheduled race distance is completed.

The race was red flagged after 32 of the scheduled 56 laps, with results reverting back to the penultimate lap, in this case lap 31.

After the red flag came out, cars and drivers sat on the grid for 50 minutes, with a restart possible if conditions improved.

However the race director eventually ruled the race would not restart.

Jarno Trulli of Toyota was fourth, ahead of Brawn’s Rubens Barrichello. Red Bull’s Mark Webber was sixth, Lewis Hamilton was seventh for McLaren, giving him some reward after a dire week, with Williams’ Nico Rosberg eighth.

Conditions deteriorated very rapidly after the first of the rain arrived in the 22nd lap, but ten laps later the conditions were undriveable.

The track was awash in rain, and the twilight start meant the skies were very dark and visibility poor.

Abandonment of the race raised questions about the wisdom of scheduling twilight races – this race began at 5 p.m. local time _ to make them available at a more convenient time for European television audiences.

Button’s win was the third of his career and built on his victory at last weekend’s season-opening Australian Grand Prix.

“What a crazy race, it really was,” Button said. “You could not actually see the circuit, it was that bad.

“We were going around at running pace, it was that slow.”

Brawn became the first new team to win its first two races since Alfa Romeo won the first ever two grands prix in 1950.

Heidfeld, whose canny strategy meant he pitted only once, while other drivers had three or four pits to change tires, got his best result since the equally chaotic Belgian Grand Prix last season.

Glock’s third place was only the second podium finish of his career, having been runner-up in Hungary last year. The German was running in eighth up to the first set of pit stops, but benefitted greatly from the decision to switch to intermediate tires rather than full wets when the rain first arrived, storming through the field.

“It was one of the best races I ever could do,” Glock said. “I said go to ‘inters’, took the risk, and it paid off.”

Rosberg, fourth on the grid, got the best of the start and led the race up until the scheduled first slew of pit stops.

Heidfeld backed the decision to red flag the race, and not to restart it.

“It was very clearly impossible to run if the rain continued like it was when the race was quote rightly stopped,” he said. – AP
