for me, yesterday i downloaded a powerpoint viewer 2007 … and the virus began attack … when i scan , it says no viruses. but they keep sending to other ppl … when sending, my comp will hang and they auto send… any solution?

Uninstall WLM.

Go to start > run and type “%appdata%/Microsoft” and delete the MSN Messenger folder.

Re-install WLM and you should be done. Change your pass just to be sure…

Hi john, this is because some ppl access the link and give in the password so that the system or script can login to the contact list and send links…

Two days ago I got a link from a friend :Imagehostz.com/?user (my msn adress)&image=DSC00245.JPG ?!?
Unfortunately clicked it and voila, people were texting saying i was sending out links through msn..so thats the only way i noticed i had the virus, my trendmicro didnt pick up on it or anything..How on earth do i get rid of this? PLEASE, somebody help me;)

hi!i have a simple question…is it possible that WE have already a spam-virus that is “controling” certain of our msn contacts when they are off-line and is responsible for the offline sent messages with the weird links?
or i must lay off this ‘theory’?cause if it was a virus in our pc then wouldn’t EVERY msn contact send that messages…?

Have hardly touched my PC today, went to friends, went back home at end of day.
Pidgin (my IM client) told me “1 account was disabled because you signed on from another location.”
I reconnected and went on, thinking it may be a bug.
Friend called me and told me “dude, you’re spamming me with:’I am done trying all the different fat burner pills out there. I finally found one pill that forces your body to drop a lot of weight very quickly. Its called Acai, costs just 5 dolars and I always order from http://seemsoar.com‘”
Ran an Avira scan, found nothing.
Changed my MSN password and scanning with Avira from Arch Linux hdd now, wonder if this is a rootkit :/
Still don’t get it, how did they get my password?
I don’t remember clicking any bad links/exe files.
