You’ve been waiting with bated breath (and fingers) for this, and it’s finally here! Digi and Maxis launched Mobile IM(Instant Messaging) Chat on the move.

The new DiGi and Maxis Mobile Instant Messaging is a nifty little application that gets you connected with your peers via mobile phone or PC! With Mobile IM, you can now chat with all your 016, 012 & 017 friends from the 1st day as your friends will receive messages as IM or SMS!

It is easy to use, enabling text conversations in real-time with friends or colleagues anytime, anywhere. The new Mobile IM also offers richer communication with features like tracking of communication dialogue and the use of emoticons.

Mobile IM (MIM) is just like IM
– Send and receive instant messages (using nicknames)
– Send and receive emoticons
– See and store your conversation threads
– Add friends to your buddy list direct from your phone book
– Display your status online and see your friends’ too (online, offline, busy…)
– Share files

Getting Started
How does MIM work? You’ll need to download the MIM software and install in to your mobile phones. Read on to find out how to download the software.

After completing the steps above, you will receive 2 SMS:
– A WAP link to download the application.
– Mobile IM Settings.
